"Beautiful hotel with stunning lake views."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 20, 2013
The Copthorne Hotel is in downtown Queenstown. We were upgraded to a lake view. We had a large room with two queen beds and a kitchenette. A large private balcony overlooked the lake. Everything was clean and comfortable. The service at the concierge was very helpful with directions to everything we wanted to see. This was the most lovely hotel of our entire stay in New Zealand, at a very reasonable price. We highly recommend it.

Extremely short walk to downtown. Great views from room.
"Beautiful and upscale"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 10, 2013
Right on the water with a lovely view of the lake. Good food in the restaurant, very helpful front desk personnel. 20 minutes free WiFi in the lobby (seems to be a Copthorne standard) or pay for wired in your room. The location is an eight minute walk to the downtown area and about 12 back up as there's a climb involved. Be prepared to pay attention as to what floor you're on and want to go to as the hotel rooms are on lower floors than the lobby due to the hotel being built on the side of a hill. Park free on the street or a nominal charge in the inside parking garage. A variety of extra pillow types are available for the asking.
"Perfect Queenstown Place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 10, 2013
Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The location is in central Queenstown (and so no more than a couple of blocks from anything), but right next to a large park, so feels separate. The rooms are modest size, but well laid-out, and so work well. We highly recommend it.
"Good Hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 7, 2013
This is quite a good hotel, as you would expect from a Hilton/managed by Hilton. The room was very nice, and everything about it felt luxurious and as it should be. There were only two cons: (1) It is a few km out of town, across a one way bridge that sometimes has a few minutes wait for traffic. (2) The pricing of the internet was a little strange: WiFi in the room was quite expensive ($30/day if I remember correctly), but there was unlimited free fast internet in the business center in the Hilton across the street. But it was in a chilly room with no windows in the basement of the Hilton - it's almost like they're trying to make it unpleasant to use there.
"fantastic!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 31, 2013
I chose to stay here because I was looking for a budget hotel for an overnight stay. This is not your average backpacker lodge by a long shot. The hotel offers a variety of room styles from dorm to very comfortable hotel rooms with en suite and tv. A lovely place to stay, staff are friendly and the whole place had a lovely feel about it.

We enjoyed the walk to the town center, but we were only there for a day. If you were staying longer, the walk could get old. We look for a clean room with a good bed and shower. This room easily qualified and was attractive as well. Also free Internet for multiple devices was appreciated. We've come to expect that, but have been disappointed with many of the lodgings we've booked.
"Must stay more than one night"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 23, 2013
We had limited time in Queenstown, but, really enjoyed our 18 hours around The Point.
"quiet location in beautiful surroundings"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 13, 2013
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with refrigerator, sink and extras for having breakfast before heading out for the day--a big savings on time and money. My only criticism was the noise if people in adjoining rooms were loud, especially New Years Eve.
