At the Port of Manaus you’ll see boats of all sizes docking, from yachts to shipping containers and huge cruise ships. As the major port for the area, it’s a busy commercial district, and you’ll find electrical manufacturers and petroleum companies here amongst others. The Mindu Municipal Park is a tropical green oasis in the middle of the city, and along the trails you’ll see palm trees, colorful wildlife, and sheltered areas. If you want to learn more about the area, the modern Povos da Amazonia Cultural Center is full of important artifacts and displays about the native tribes of the area, with multimedia displays and annual cultural festivals.

How to get to Manaus

Manaus International Airport is about a 15 minute drive north of the city center, with taxis and rental cars available in the main terminal. Getting to the center by bus is also simple, with plenty of services going to and from Manaus Bus Station. From here you can catch local buses, as well as long-distance coaches that travel around Brazil. Many visitors also arrive by boat, with cruises traveling down the Amazon River and docking at Porto Flutuante.
