"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 23, 2012
We stayed one night during the Olympic Trials (Iowa City) and the room definitely served it's purpose. The bath fixtures were worn but that really did not bother us at all. The bed was comfortable enough and the room smelled fresh. Nice little pool and small lobby area to relax and watch the kids swim from. Breakfast was limited but free and did the trick with waffles, cereal donuts, toast, oatmeal and orange juice.
"Best hotel in Cedar Rapids!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 21, 2012
We had a little trouble finding the hotel, but were very satisfied with everything else about it. Everything was clean and nice-looking, and it was quiet despite the bar crawl that was happening in the lounge. The hotel is right on the river, which provided a nice view, and it was close to a very cute downtown-ish area of town that had several quaint coffee shops and stores. We would stay here again!

"Room upgrade"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 6, 2012
My confirmation papers stated a poolside room. When I went to check in, I was given a very remote room from the amenities. I showed them my reservation and was told a poolside room was an upgrade. the desk clerk then gave me a poolside room, but if I hadn't spoken up, I would have been given the less desirable room. If the the hotel had been booked solid, I wouldn't have had any choice. But why did Hotels. com give me the poolside room, only to have the desk clerk switch it?
"Rodeway Inn, Cedar Rabids, IA"Reviewed by Joe M of "Kansas City, MO" on Mar 27, 2012
Requested via Hotels.com a smoking handicapped room on the first floor with a refrigerator and a king size bed. When l arrived, it was a non-smoking handicapped room. Two queen size beds and no refrigerator. Night manager moved a refrigerator in and gave me an ashtray to allowed me to smoke in the non-smoking room. The alarm clock didn't work and there was no phone in the room so I asked the desk clerk to knock on the door to wake me up. Good thing my cell phone woke me up, I would have not heard the light tapping on the door. I wanted to do some work at the desk, but there was no desk lamp and the table was in darkest corner of room, so had to ask for a lamp, got a shadeless floor lamp. Let's summarize - 2 queens vs 1 requested king bed, non-smoking vs requested smoking, no refrigerator, no functioning alarm clock, no desk lamp, no phone in room, did not replenish the coffee from the previous day, but the staff was very accommodating. Pretty well summarizes my stay at Rodeway Inn in Cedar Rapids, IA.
