"Best place to stay in State College...hands down!"

As an alumna, I always aim to stay at the Days Inn. Came back to visit Penn State for a weekend with friends, and the Days Inn did not disappoint. You really can't beat the location in downtown State College. Everything is in walking distance, and it also doesn't hurt that Mad Mex is connected to the hotel. Rooms were clean with no problems and there's free coffee in the lobby! Also worth noting the hotel is pet friendly.
"Way more than I expected!!"

Wasn't sure what to expect for the low price, but it was myself, my son & a friend of his for the Penn State / Ohio State Basketball game, so there really shouldn't be anything too bad for 3 guys to endure for 1 night!! The only thing to know is that the hotel consists of 2 buildings - the closest one is, from what I could tell by walking thru it looking for our room, the "smoking" building. Our building was the No Smoking building (so glad!) and the room was pleasantly good sized with 2 comfortable beds, TV, Wifi, and - believe it or not - a continental breakfast for free! With 2 teenage boys, that was easily worth $15 right there!! Bottom line - the room was much better than I expected for the $$. I would certainly recommend the hotel. Also - it was only 6 minutes from the Bryce Jordan Center & Penn State University.
