How to get to Newark

Newark Penn Station is the main rail terminus from where Amtrak and PATH trains provide connections throughout New Jersey, and to New York.

Newark is famous for its arts and culture, and a performance at the NJ Performing Arts Center should feature on all itineraries. It is definitely worth checking out Newark Museum, which is home to impressive galleries, a zoo and a planetarium. Day-trips to nearby New York are also recommended when you can enjoy the excitement of the world famous city, with some of the guest houses in Newark providing pre-planned trips.

From some of the reviews, I was expecting a total slum, but it was really reasonably good. Seemed clean and safe. Not a five-star luxury hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but a good, cheap hotel near the airport.

Ordered baked beans on toast. Took an hour to be delivered to room after being told it would be about 10 minutes! Breakfast next day superb.

I thought hotel was nicer than other reviews. It was quiet and comfortable for a one night stay prior to flying. Shuttle service good. Better than anticipated.
