A blend of Old West character and small town charm, Moab sits like an oasis within the sunburnt scenery of Utah’s Canyon County. Just a short distance from the red rock marvels of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, the city serves as a basecamp for sightseers and adventurers alike. From hiking to breathtaking vantage points and mountain biking across rugged terrain, to climbing, rafting, or 4-wheel driving – sheer adrenaline awaits. When you’ve had your fill the vibrant city will welcome you back for some well earned R&R.

Things to see

Spread across 76,000 acres, Arches National Park is named for its mesmerizing collection of over 2,000 red sandstone arches. Just 5 miles from the city, visitors can take guided hikes and tours through this otherworldly landscape, where each arch, pinnacle, and unique formation has been millions of years in the making. For some picturesque putting, views don’t come much more dramatic than those at Moab Golf Course. Offering 18-holes of challenging play, the course is also home to a pro shop and driving range. If Utah’s heat leaves you needing to cool down, make a splash at the Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center. The vast complex comes complete with a range of fitness facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, and play areas for the kids. With exhibits and artefacts covering everything from local geology and the city’s first settlers, to the ancient people and dinosaurs that roamed the region before, the Museum of Moab makes for a captivating visit.
