Hidden within woodland, the theatre hosts numerous family-friendly shows, including their signature production, ‘A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale’. Should that spark your interest further, you’ll want to visit the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, on the very site where Abraham Lincoln spent his childhood. Here you can explore museum dedicated to his legacy, follow the scenic trails, or go back in time at the historical farm, complete with costumed actors. If you’re not quite ready to leave the early 1800’s, then take a tour at Colonel Jones’ Home, the abode of Lincoln’s merchant employer. For that, you’re best off looking elsewhere within the Spencer County. Just a few minutes drive away, the small town of Dale offers a peaceful base. A 23 mile drive southeast of Lincoln City and you’ll find historical Tell City, on the banks the Ohio River. Founded by Swiss-German immigrants in the 1850s, the quaint city is a great base for outdoorsy types with it’s proximity to Hoosier National Forest.How to get to Lincoln CityLincoln City’s nearest major airport is Louisville International, in Louisville City Kentucky. Whilst reasonably well connected to destinations in the states, those coming from further away will have to connect via larger airports, such as Chicago O’Hare or John F. Kennedy International. Located 68 miles away from Lincoln City, getting in to the area from Louisville takes just over an hour by car.
