"Classic California Sea Side La Jolla"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Moany of the reviews cover what may not be up to date with this classic La Jolla Cove hotel. I paid my bill and put a deposit on my next stay! I needed a break, needed to be close to the sea, and checking in on a cool Sunday evening, i was offered an upgrade. Balcony where you can hear the waves breaking, sea gulls and sea lions. The staff is superb, helpful, kind, knowledgable, gracious and very fair. The edge of the northern continent, swim right out the door of the hotel, palm trees green grass, the Pacific. Pillows were super comfy, my bed was fine, more closets than i could fill, beautiful view from rooftop breakfast, fast internet, wonderful pass to the La Jolla Sports Club classes and workout equip. Checked in for one night, chose 2 nights as i got my key, and stayed a 3rd night to breathe that sea air and smile at the staff and their friendly helpfullness. Headed back next month. Thankyou! Thank you!

Second time my wife & I stayed there. It's convienent to the La Jolla 1/2 Marathon. Staff is very pleasant & helpful. Room is spacious. Downside is we couldn't turn of air condintioner at this time of year..got kind of stuffy. Opened sliding glass door but got loud with people yelling around 2:00 AM. We had north side room this year. Last year had south side room. We will return next year..but will insist on south room.

"nicely off the beaten track"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 19, 2012
Enjoyed my stay & walks along the ocean, just a block or 2 to Pacific coast. Sidewalks & stairs down to beaches, huge rocks & sand, many surfers. Staff @ hotel were very helpful. Everything I needed & more. i'd stay there again.

So convenient. Can walk right out your door to the shops and restaurants. One block from the beach.
"great location, old hotel"Reviewed by Carol G of "Curitiba, Brazil" on Mar 19, 2012
The location is really amazing, less that a few steps from the beach. The hotel is quite old, no renovations the restarurant is very good, expensive, but very good
