Tulsa, also known as ‘The Oil Capital of the World,’ is the second largest city in Oklahoma. The city gets its nickname from the industry that dominated its recent history, but Tulsa’s beautiful Art Deco architecture and wide-ranging attractions show that there’s much more to this city than oil. When to go to Tulsa

Divided by the Arkansas River, Tulsa lies in Tornado Alley and has a temperate climate. Although extreme weather can hit the city, it is known for having hot summers and mild winters. Popular months to book hotels in Tulsa are May and June, when highs average out at around 85°F.

How to get to Tulsa

Tulsa International Airport (TUL) is the city’s major airport and lies approximately 5 miles from the city’s Business District. There’s a range of Tulsa Airport hotels to choose from, or you can take a taxi to a Tulsa inn downtown. During your stay you might want to catch a city bus service to local attractions, including theaters and most of the excellent Tulsa restaurants.

The whole family will enjoy Tulsa Zoo and Oklahoma Aquarium, and if you want to experience the city’s culture, try the impressive Philbrook Museum. The hotel was easy to find and conveniently located. Overall the hotel is a great place to stay if you want something cheap. The hotel could use some updating.

Walls are VERY thin...heard EVERYONE in the halls all night and the people in the room next to us. It got so bad that we called the front desk and after they didn't do anything about it I went and ask they to quiet down. Will NOT stay there again! The floor in the bathroom had a green substance that I assume were boogers...so gross!
