A breezy 12 miles from The Windy City’s downtown district, bustling but livable Evanston holds its own beside the restful blue of Lake Michigan. Home to the top notch Northwestern University and its lively student population, the city comes packed with vibrant offerings for all. Things to see

Football fans can catch a game at Ryan Field, home turf of the Northwestern Wildcats football team. Set on the university’s campus, the 47,000-seater outdoor stadium regularly hosts action packed games. Whilst on campus, be sure to drop by the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art too. Set behind a shiny glass façade, the museum features a sculpture garden, an art-house cinema, travelling exhibits, and over 4,000 artworks, many by Chicago-based artists. Built in 1873 in response to several shipwrecks, Grosse Point Lighthouse certainly has a few local stories to share. Now a museum, visitors can learn about its history and climb the 141 steps up to the light tower. The Mitchell Museum of the American Indian focuses entirely on North America’s native population, from the Paleo-Indian period through to the present day. Over 9,000 artefacts including tools, crafts, weaponry, and everyday items, detail the cultures and lifestyles of those from the Woodlands, the Plains, and everywhere between.
