"Great Customer Service, Great Ambience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 19, 2013
There were a couple mishaps here and there, but they managed to make it up in every single way. We were given a credit when we did not get the room we asked for, and 4 complimentary drinks. We loved the wine at happy hour, and coffee in the lobby in the morning. Parking is expensive, and about 3 blocks away we were able to park for $30 for the whole weekend (compared to $38 per night). The pool was nice, but it was unfortunate the bar wasn't open in "the winter months". All in all we were very impressed with the customer service and cleanliness. Nice rooms and comfy beds too.

Hotel employees were very cheerful, professional & helpful. Amenities were excellent. Food prices could have been a little more reasonable. In terms of room, the bathroom could use a towel rack to hang the used towels esp if two people stay who want to be environmently conscious & not use new towels every day. Overall, very good experience.
"Pleasantly surprised by a retro chic gem!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 2, 2013
The location of the hotel was great - smack in the middle of Gaslamp and we were able to walk to a million options for food, drinks, entertainment. The staff was really friendly and courteous. Most of all, I loved the decor - this place made the marriage between old retro and modern chic really work! The rooms showcased this best: everything in the room (furniture, appliances, fixtures) was new and modern except for the window which was as old as the building and could open fully, without screening. People watching out from this uninhibiting window was a scene out of a movie from 25 years ago. The shower was a large corner glass case without a door and 2 shower heads. It was comfortable and romantic. We really enjoyed every bit of the experience except for the lack of good sound filtering. I guess that comes from the old windows, but on a Saturday night, you can hear the last of the drunk jibberish yells on the street. They give you earplugs, so if you use them, you'll probably be fine. I would definitely go back!
