We go to Vail at least once a year. I have always wanted to stay at the gramshammer and it was always booked up. It is like going to Austria! The decor is fabulous. The rooms are clean and bedding is soft and beautiful. The beds were very very comfortable. The staff was very polite and it is one of the original hotels in Vail. The owners actually live there. I will go back again and again. I am a clean freak and usually we check into hotel rooms and we have to move because of nasty bathrooms. It was spotless.
"Not too shabby"

Great stay. Stayed 4 days three nights. Got there earlier then expected able to check in at 10am that morning. The front desk personnel were very very helpful. Spa, pool, showers, etc were all very clean and great temperature. The bar lounge in the basement of hotel was cool and the breakfast was pretty good too.

The location was perfect, right in Vail Village. A 100 yd walk to the gondola, and you can ski up to the hotel at the end of the day, right to the ski valet, where they store your skis, poles, and boots. Room was comfortable, rustically decorated and clean with a balcony overlooking the mountain. The hotel's front desk and door service was pretty casual - not overly attentive, but very pleasant. The price was very resaonable too, especially right around Christmas. I'd definitely stay here again.
