I only stayed there for one night but it was a pleasant experience.
"Great staff and excellent location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 18, 2013
Staff (specially Daniel) was great and extremely helpful. Location was perfect, not only is it right in front of the beach but is also conveniently located close to restaurants and night life. Rooms (I stayed at a room facing the ocean, which made for a great view of Copacabana beach) where spacious, however the decoration leaves something to be desire, the sofa in it was old and the bed was pretty hard. We did not mind much since we spend most of the time outside but with such a great location and service is unfortunate that their rooms are not in better condition. Breakfast was not abundant in its offering but it did have options and was good. They also provide towels and umbrellas for the beach. Overall I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would definitely return on my next trip.

"Not at all bad"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 28, 2013
The Rondonia Palace is in a pretty good area, 1 1/2 blocks from Flamengo beach (although the sea water there is bad) and a couple blocks from the subway station. We got in on an early flight and they let us check in early. The breakfast buffet is nice and we got room service once. The room is dated but comfortable. It was easy to get anywhere from the hotel. The only downside was communication. A couple of the staff spoke some english but the rest of the time I needed to use my 2 weeks' cramming of Portuguese or Spanish.

Basic but incredibly clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. Safe and secure place to stay with a good range on offer for breakfast.
"Last Minute Hotel needed"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 7, 2013
I booked this hotel very last minute, based on other peoples review i booked it. The hotel is in a good location, about 3-4 blocks from Copacaban beach. Has a couple restaurants sourounding it and pharmacy. Taxis are conveniently driving by. The staff in the morning i found to be a bit dry, but still helpful. The staff at night was very acomodatin and helpful. Was the cheapest room i could find in the area and i was please with my 1 bedrrom suite. Room service was not bad and the breakfast in the morning was great. I purchased two of the tours and they were ok nothing spectacular. The drinks are not included in the rates of the tours that is to be purchased seperately.Overall the Hotel was very clean/ friendly and in good location.

If you are travelling with your family (children) and/or you are heterosexual, this is not the hotel or area to stay in Ipanema. Research this area before you book your stay in Ipanema.
