"Great, quiet location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and made up nicely each day. The hotel is old but well maintained. It is close to many attractions and away from the noise. The wi-fi signal wasn't as good as it should be, but maybe that's because we were on the fourth floor. We would definitely stay there again.
"Wish it were closer to the action in the French Qu"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 26, 2013
I had a very good time in New Orleans and would recommend the Melrose Mansion with a caveat about the walk to the main French Quarter.

"Bachelor Party Extravaganza"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 23, 2013
This hotel was perfect for my friends and I. We came to New Orleans for a bachelor party, and we couldn't have been happier with our selection of hotels. It is extremely convenient, just one block north of Bourbon Street, without having to pay the higher Bourbon Street prices. Large rooms, very clean. Staff was helpful and kind. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and will definitely try to stay here again the next time we come to the NOLA.

"Great Stay During Mardi Gras"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 13, 2013
We often travel to NO for Mardi Gras, JazzFest, events and work. This trip, we needed to be in the Garden District so we could be close to a friend's condo on St. Charles and B&B where other friends were. After reading negative reviews on a site, we were unsure what to expect. We were very surprised and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You cannot beat the service and hospitality of Hollie and Henry. So nice and helpful. We had to change our original check-in time, this was no problem. When our flight landed extra early, I called to see if we could check-in even earlier and not only was it not a problem...we were allowed to see several other rooms since we were first to arrive. The house is super quiet and even though fully booked, I only saw 4 other people total during a 5 day stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Being Southern, I love the romantic feel/historic ambience this property exudes. If you are looking for contemporary or modern, this is not for you. Try the new Hotel Indigo. Many reviews mentioned the house rules. This is a stately Southern mansion (amongst other million dollar properties) and should be treated with respect: the rules mainly focus on not smoking and not bringing red wine into your room. Common sense. This is a great property and no one would want it ruined by being inconsiderate. Additionally, you are in walking distance of many great restaurants, bars, and shopping areas. I would stay here again if I needed to be in the Garden District.
