How to get to Lafayette

Travelers coming to Lafayette have two options when it comes to flying in. The first is to land at Chennault International Airport near Lake Charles and follow Interstate 10 all the way to the town. The second is to land at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport about an hour to the east, which arguably accepts more inbound flights. Greyhound coaches travel to Lafayette, so onward travel won’t be a problem, but it’s nice to hire a car and take your time, taking in the beautiful views across Lake Maurepas and pausing for a while at the Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge.
