Utica Hotels

Home to several campuses and grand old buildings, Utica is a picturesque college town with the kind of laid back charm you'd expect in upstate New York. Its industrial past has left it with plenty of old warehouses and factories which have been turned into gentrified yet cozy pubs and restaurants. However, there's still a strong work ethic towards manufacturing, and the city hosts a large number of businesses producing locally made goods that have become household names.

Things to see

The vibrant red buildings of Utica College are modern and stylish, and the leafy campus has state of the art facilities with sleek, futuristic architecture sitting alongside the more traditional campus buildings. This is a college that's enthusiastic about sports, and just a short drive away under the dome of the Utica Memorial Auditorium you'll find their ice hockey team, the Utica College Pioneers, taking on their rivals in noisy, thrilling matches. The site also holds concerts and family friendly shows, as well as figure skating performances from the auditorium's team. There's nothing quite like a cold beer or ale during a game, and a trip to the Saranac Brewery means you can tour this fascinating local business and find out how their wide range of beverages are brewed. From pale ales to lager, there's something for every taste buds, and one of the best parts of the tour is the tasting room. There are even brewed soft drinks for the kids, so they can enjoy the tour too.
