Known as the “Old City,” St. Augustine, FL, as the site of the first permanent European settlement in the United States, has much to interest history lovers. Visitors to the city can explore the historical monuments, as well as visiting the range of museums and galleries or relaxing on the local beaches. When to go to St. Augustine

St. Augustine stays relatively warm all year round, and July and August temperatures regularly exceed 90°F, although short thunderstorms are also fairly common in the height of summer. Winters are sunny and reasonably warm.

How to get to St. Augustine

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is the nearest commercial airport, around 40 miles to the south of St. Augustine. Transfers to St. Augustine downtown hotels and oceanfront hotels can be made by shuttles and by taxi. There is an Amtrak station in the city, serving destinations including Miami and New York, and a Greyhound stop is located on Dobbs Road, although tickets must be purchased in advance. Getting around the city is stress-free, with most attractions within walking distance. Regular, affordable bus services across St. Augustine are operated by the Sunshine Bus Company, while a trolley also runs to the city’s main tourist areas.

Among the most famous St. Augustine attractions are the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum, with examples of outstanding Spanish architecture, and the St. Augustine Lighthouse, which also features a maritime museum. Many fine St. Augustine restaurants are located along the George Street waterfront. The St. Augustine Alligator Farm, in St. Augustine Beach, is another local highlight, with the Regency Inn and Suites St. Augustine conveniently located nearby.

When looking for a hotel I kept seeing these ones that just looked so run down so I was not expecting too much from the sleep inn but when i got there the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was tastefully decorated and had been freshly painted. Overall it was pretty good. I would stay here again.

We stayed 3 nights. When we got back from the day trips the linens were always done and the room was clean. The breakfast was what you would expect for the price. The atendant was helpful. did waht was stated.

I enjoyed the neighborhood and the museum. We also found some great food. The hotel is not only beautiful, but comfortable.
