"Beautiful historical hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 2, 2012
Well worth staying in the club rooms for the breakfast and afternoon appetizers. Staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is a beautiful historical treasure. We walked to many downtown sights. The carpet in rooms could be replaced, but it was inconsequential to us.

"Having fun in the warm California Sun"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 30, 2012
I went to see Bruce Springsteen at the nearby Sports Arena. It was very convenient for that purpose. It is also on the route 81 bus stop heading Downtown and very close to Union Station which is the one place in L.A. that you can get virtually anywhere if you choose to travel by walking, bus or train as i did. There was little open after 10:00 pm in the area which limits your food or drink choices as Bruce routinely finishes his shows at 11:00 or later as most fans know. That being said most people at the hotel when i was there were also there for the concerts which made walking from the arena back to the hotel as safe as any neighbourhood could be. The hotel offered a SUPERB choice of television stations to watch. I had a little trouble with the in-room phone but the front desk staff took care of it. It probably isn't an issue for most people with blackberries or other smart phones. The whirlpool was extremely useful given the amount of walking in and around the city i did. I would like it if it were open a little later than 10:00pm. Overall it was a very satisfying stay. A solid 4 stars out of 5.

"Close to the airport"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
We stayed for one night because our flight was at 6am. Convenient shuttle that apparently runs every 15-20 minutes...we were waiting for 20 minutes -I guess we just missed the last one. We had a 2 doubled bed room (lowest priced room available). For being so close to the airport the room was pretty quiet. The only noise issue I had were that the doors to the rooms would slam shut so if another patron let it close on its own it would be pretty loud. Overall it was pretty clean but small. Free wifi was cool. Neighborhood is pretty busy so I don't see safety being an issue. Front desk employee, who was a trainee, was very polite and knowledgable.
"central to airport, LA tours, and cruise departur"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
as above, it was great, also quiet considering near airport, and Bistro was convenient and affordable.....
"Great location to metrostation!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 23, 2012
I was in town to go to a hockey game at staples center. The hotels location was great there were bus stops outside of the hotel and the subway right across the street and for someone who didn't have a car it couldn't have been easier to get around. I was able to easily explore LA and its outskirts. The room was very clean - nothing too special but I wasn't in my room except to sleep. The mattress was pretty hard but that was something I was able to get past. The staff was very helpful and I felt safe in the neighbourhood. For the price I would highly recommended it!

"Excellent Hotel - watch out for the cabs!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 23, 2012
Hotel and staff were excellent, room was nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only problem was the cabs that wait in front of the Hotel - over-charge and drive around to make more money rather than take you to your destination! Be-ware of the drivers and take a map, watch them! Very disappointed with the taxi services!
