Close to everything and lots of places to eat
"the Marriott Waikiki is a short walk to the beach."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
we really enjoyed our stay at the Waikiki Marriott. It is conveniently located in the middle of Waikiki and close to many activities. The only downside is the charge for WIFI in the room. WIFI is free in the lobby but it would be better to have it free in the room.

Great location. We even tried to extend our visit we liked it so much. Comparatively speaking, the rates were very reasonable. It would be nice if Honolulu did something about their homeless population, but even they were engaging and harmless.
"Great view, on the beach, & close to everything"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 25, 2013
I was a bit hesitant to book this hotel after reading some of the reviews on Yelp, but the price was right, and we ended up having a great experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked a room with a City view and we ended up with a room on the 31st floor in the Oceanarium Tower that overlooked Diamond Head and the eastern portion of Waikiki Beach. If you don't mind a smoking room, you may also get a bonus upgrade for no extra cost like we did. (Note: This particular room didn't smell very smoky, especially since you can open the sliding glass door to the balcony and have a constant supply of fresh air.) Sure, the rooms are simple and a bit outdated, but really, who spends time in their hotel room when you're in Hawaii? We spent about 2 hours a day in our room (not including sleeping), and almost every second of that was spent on the balcony soaking up the view and the sunshine.
