Doubletree is one of our favorite stays. We've stayed at them in California and other places. The St. Louis/Union Station location had a great room and good location. Service people were friendly. One major problem--a staff member did not tell us the site was locked up at 10:00 except for the front door.This is a long way from the parking lot and caused us problems. It marred an otherwise very nice hotel.

We went for a weekend getaway. Went to lacledes landing then dinner downtown...all within walking distance. Hotel did have construction going on when we arrived, could not tell during our stay.

I''ve always had good experiences with Holiday Inn hotels, our room was clean and the staff got us our room right away. There was a security guard walking the grounds at night which made my girlfriend feel comfortable when she went outside to smoke as this is a nonsmoking hotel.
