Because of the low price, I did not expect to see such a wonderful place as the Maui Banyan. This is a hotel and condo complex that is perfect for visitors who can walk a minute or two to their car and to the pool and smoking areas. Clean, excellent location, friendly staff, incredibly beautiful landscaping complete with flowers growing everywhere, great pool and jacuzzi, BBQ areas were clean and in a comfortable area near the pool, tennis court, designated smoking areas, very competent Maui activity personnel and very comfortable beds.

I enjoyed myself here for Thanksgiving weekend with a friend. I wish they had an extra bed but the queen size was okay. I like how the beach is so close to the hotel. There's two restaurant close to the hotel, if you are vegan, you might as well walk about a mile to have more food choices. I did not rent a car that entire weekend so walking was great and nothing was too far.

Each room individually owed ,so some are nicer than others. The room we stayed in was ok had everything just a little out dated. But the view made up for it! Right on the beach, north end of Kihei, so fairly quiet, but still close to everything. I will definitely consider Hale Kao O Kihei on our next visit to Maui.

I was born and raised on Maui and have had the opportunity to stay at various hotels and condos during my visits now that I have moved to the East Coast. We arrived late (near midnight), and it took us a while to figure out who to call in order to gain access to our unit. If you know you will be arriving to the complex after 6pm (I believe that's when the front desk closes) it would be good to call ahead to make sure you have the right contact number to call when arriving. Our unit had a number pad on the door so you will probably need a code to get into your unit and a parking stall number if you have a vehicle since it's all assigned parking. You'll just get your parking pass the following morning when the front desk opens. We enjoyed the fact that it's right on the beach, had a pool and jacuzzi, bbq grills and laundry rooms on every other floor. The unit had everything we needed and then some for our 12-day Maui vacation. It was a little hard to locate at first since there is just a sign on the building itself and not next to the road. The location was convenient in that it was minutes away from grocery stores and restaurants. If you want a nice leisure walk after dinner you have a nice stretch of beach on the backside of the condo.

This may not be the nicest condo, but it fit our needs exactly. Having breakfast on the lanai every morning was perfect, and the beach and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely a home away from home. It had all the amenities that we needed, the grocery store was a short drive (or long walk) away and I liked that the area didn't seem as touristy compared to Lahaina. Some of the beds weren't as comfortable as others, but the condo worked out perfectly for us. The one thing that was confusing was there was no front lobby/desk. But all we had to do was call the number on the confirmation email and they gave us all the info we needed to get to the room.

Everything was nice and we stayed here 10 days.Location was near a beach and a garden....but a littel bit far away from the foodstore and resturants because we didnĀ“t have a car.
