Things to see

Standing 400 feet tall, the State Capitol building is hard to miss, providing a handy landmark when navigating the city. It flaunts an impressive art deco exterior, but step inside and you'll be wowed by the detailed mosaics, ornate chambers, and panoramic views of Lincoln from the observation deck. If you know your Warhol from your Pollock, you’ll feel at home in the Sheldon Museum of Art, which has a prestigious collection of modern artworks. Sports fans, meanwhile, should head for the Memorial Stadium to be swept up in excitement for the Nebraska Huskers. On game days, their fans flood the stadium in a sea of red, so make sure you take a scarlet sweater.
