Anaheim, whose name means ‘home by the Santa Ana River’ in German, is in Orange County, California. The city was founded by German families in the 19th century and is an industrial center. The commercial area known as the Anaheim Resort is home to Disneyland, which was established over fifty years ago and remains a premier tourist attraction. To experience it, stay at one of the many hotels in Anaheim near Disneyland, or stay in the resort itself at a Disneyland hotel.

When to go to Anaheim

At just 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles, Anaheim has a warm climate with little temperature variation from season to season. Popular months to book hotels in Anaheim are June and July, when temperatures reach highs of around 82°F.

How to get to Anaheim

John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) are both around 15 miles from the city. The larger Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is further at around 30 miles away. You can travel by taxi or bus from these airports to Anaheim Convention Center hotels, and downtown hotels. Once in the city you can take the Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) bus service to reach Disneyland hotels or catch an intercity rail service from Anaheim train station.

Things to do in Anaheim

Aside from the Disneyland Resort, there are many interesting attractions in Anaheim. The Crystal Cathedral is an impressive religious building with 10,000 panes of glass, and the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace provides an insight into the former president’s life. You might also want to take the family to Knott’s Soak City Water Park or the Adventure City theme park. Whilst on your visit try one of the hotels downtown, or one of the Hilton hotels Anaheim has to offer.
