"Great Place in Istanbul"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 20, 2013
This place is a great place to stay. I had read other reviews of this place and when I arrived I was a little worried. This hotel is spread out in different buildings but that didn't bother me at all. When I arrived to my building the door was about 5 feet tall, and the stairs were very narrow. When I got to my room on the third floor they showed me around my room. The bed was a pull out couch, but I didn't argue. It was really comfortable. The bathroom was very nice, and it had a full kitchen. The hardest part for me was the directions. Make sure you take a map! The Sultanahmet Suites is located in a very old neighborhood, and the streets (some without side walks) were very old and rough. There is a major climb to get to the main attractions, but it is all worth it. When I come back to Istanbul I will stay at this place again, hands down.
"far away from all must -see sights"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 7, 2013
excellent accommodation , very clean and modern but far away very far away from all must see sights ... would be excellent for students but not for tourists. I would rate it 5/5 if it is closer to all sightseeing . it takes about 2 hours to get to Aksary area by public transportation . Staff are very friendly .
"Great Hotel with Great Service"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 1, 2013
I recently visited Istanbul with my family and the Tunel Residence was a big hit. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Service was excelent and extremely friendly. The location was also great. The one thing that could improve is the pool, which despite being small had the main negative feature of tiles and grouting missing in sections. Other than that our stay at the Tunel Residence could not be beat and I would highly recomend it to other visitors.
"Modern large room but VERY difficult to find"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 21, 2012
I stayed here my last night in Istanbul. The hotel mgr. from my previous 3 nights told the taxi driver where to drive, but with road construction he could not get me there and literally dropped me off. I had no idea where to go. Finally a nice "angel" came to my rescue, and with a Turkcell called the hotel. There is no sign at the hotel. It is VERY hard to find.Mehmet came from another location to meet me. What a nice young man he is. He informed me my room was not ready yet (2 p.m. check-in) and kept me company while I waited. It was at this time that I discovered my new Nexus 7 notebook was not in my possession. He was kind enough to call the last hotel and after several calls they found it. He kept checking with them. He speaks great English and is a gentle young man.The room was more than spacious with modern appointments including a big screen T.V. I had to keep the music station playing at night to avoid the loud noise from the Taxsim area, as the music went to about 4 in the morning. The only negative I can say is that a bad smell was coming from the bathroom area. I kept the door closed and that helped Also, no elevator... It was a long walk up to the 5th floor. The lights went out for an hour in the evening when I was there. There is no flashlight in the room, so taking one is a great idea. I would suggest this room to a couple or family who likes to be close to the action. It was not the correct spot for a single lady who doesn't like to climb stairs.
"Great Location; Excellent price."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 17, 2012
I really enjoyed my stay at X Flats. It's actually better than a hotel. It's only a few blocks from Taksim Square and walking distance from the Dolmabahce Palace. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and convenience stores around the area as well. I will definately stay here the next time I go to Istanbul.
"This was close to important sights to see."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 28, 2012
Hotel was in a neigh hood setting and after 4 days we knew grocery and wine and fruit places. The staff was very helpful although not strong in English. The stairs would be difficult for any one with handicap but small children with us did not have a problem. Location is dense with people and traffic, but that added to local color. This is a place for those who are willing to make a little effort. Showers were hot, breakfasts sufficient and beds were comfortable. A short walk to the waterfront.

"Down hill but not down scale"Reviewed by Ciara J of "Tarsus, Turkey" on Feb 3, 2012
This hotel was close to where the havas drops you off at Taksim Square. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. The only negative I can think of was that breakfast is from 8-10 am and if you have an early flight and are taking the havas you miss out on the food.
