Our three-nights in Marmaris at the Royal Maris Hotel was spectacular.The hotel is located at the east end of Marmaris beach right across the street from the water and short distance to the night clubs but far enough away that we weren't listening to Rave music all night. The hotel was well maintained, the staff was very polite and helpful and bottom line, we just had a marvelous time. The flaws were small and easily overlooked. The shower (hand wand) was loose and would not stay in its cradle. The air conditioner was connected to the hotel key so when you left the room it turned off (hint, fix this with two keys, one that you leave in the room so the AC stays on, the other you take with you). The swimming pool closes at 6:30 PM (never could figure that one out, and breakfast closes at 10:00 AM (never could wake up that early after clubbing). The beach was pretty crowded but we rented a scooter for 35TL and easily went to less crowded areas, plus dinning, and sight seeing. Marmaris is a wonderful place to vacation and this hotel will not get in your way. The restaurant at the hotel has a fabulous view of the harbor and beaches and the pool on the roof of this 5-story hotel does too. The prices are very reasonable but menu does not offer a lot of variety. I recommend the Swordfish or Lamb Shish and the fish of the day was very good.
