"Private beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 20, 2013
We spent a week at Crown Plaza and we loved it. I suggest to all families. Although hotel was fully booked, beach, restaurants and pools were not crowded. It has a private beach, 2 big pools, spa center and 2 great restaurants. It's far from Kata and Patong but if you rent a car with driver, it takes 45 minutes to go to these locations.
"Great place."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 8, 2013
Super comfortable, it's on the beach, breakfast was good. Also some really good food options right next door on the beach. it's a little out of town... cabs are expensive, so rent a car at the airport and you'll breakeven and have more freedom

Everything was very good except the room needs updating. Exceptional location.

I have a 70% travel schedule for buisness. Although this was not a buisness trip, this was one of the first times I was suprised that the accomidations were actually much nicer than advertised! The staff, the room, the free perks and the fact that EVERY room faces the sea, made for a very magicial and relaxing respite.
"Fancy-- no culture"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 4, 2012
Beautiful resort if you plan not to leave during your stay in Phuket. Hotel is on a separate island, so it is not walking distance to anything local. We were stuck paying Westin prices for food, drink, massages, etc. but we should have expected that, I guess! There's a shuttle to Phuket town, but it was closed on the Sunday we were there. Something to consider if you get used to paying Thai prices elsewhere!
"Great Choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 27, 2012
I was so relieved when we checked into the Karona Resort because I had never been to Phuket and didn't know anything about the area when I made the choice online. It had everything we wanted though. The resort, although mid-priced was extremely nice. It was across the street from one beach and just a short walk to the other. There were plenty of places to walk to for shopping and eating so it was close to everything we could want yet off of a side street so it was very quiet and secluded. Also the staff was excellent and they had a wonderful breakfast buffet included.
"Great boutique hotel on Kata Beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 19, 2012
This hotel has the nicest beach-front area on Kata with umbrella chairs and tucked at the end of the bay, a bit more serene location. The food and restaurants were great, loved the breakfast buffet each morning. It's a convenient location although right on a main drag and we had the impression it was a bit more secluded. Overall loved it and a great place to stay for a gals getaway or romantic trip.
"Thavorn Village & Spa"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 7, 2012
We had to switch hotels because of the construction to the Thavorn Village & Spa villa which is very different. The resort is north of Patong and is isolated making it more expensive and troublesome to get to town. However, it was quiet and private and deluxe which was nice. The cable car ride to the villa was different and gave us a view of the ocean from up above. Perfect place for a romantic get away but was still nice change of pace for me and my kids.
"Le Meridien"Reviewed by Anna of "Argentina" on Feb 12, 2012
Is an excellent hotel with a beatiful private beach, wonderful pools and very good attention. The onlu drawback is that it is a little far from other places, shopping or sight seeing.
"Great hotel location, minor service issues"Reviewed by Barbara M of "Knoxville, TN" on Jan 26, 2012
Loved the beautiful beach, great location, nice rooms, and lovely pool. I was just a little disappointed in the service. When we arrived, they said that the card for beach towels were "finished" for the day. So we had to return the next morning to retrieve a card for beach towels. Purchasing cards for internet time also seemed a bit antiquated. And of course, the best value internet cards were "finished" for the day. The crazed saving of pool chairs, mentioned in other reviews, is maddening. At 7 am I was met with all ocean facing pool chairs covered with pink towels sans any owners. The breakfast was a little scant on food selection. But despite these minor annoyances, we had a lovely time, enjoyed the beautiful beach, enjoyed the short stroll to the town for shopping, enjoyed a tour arranged by the tour desk, and would return again.
