"Gets the job done"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 5, 2013
Stayed at the Rattana Mansion for 2 nights mid-week. For what we paid, it was certainly worth the value. We appreciated that the staff at the counter were able to speak some English & help us out. We did not stay in Phuket long enough to get a feel of the location but there are pleasant family restaurants & tourist shops close by. Twice cab drivers had trouble finding the hotel so it may be a little out of the way. The rooms were clean, large & comfortable. The bathrooms did not provide any soap which is unusual... I also appreciated that they offered a baggage storage. My one complaint would be the bathroom...The shower was luke warm at best & could have benefited from some grout.
"Great hotel!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 18, 2012
We only stayed a night, but wish we could have stayed longer. Fresh flowers in room. Awesome location. Very cool bathroom. Loved the balcony! Perfect location. Friendly staff. All around winner!

"Close to beach; great place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 20, 2012
The best thing about this hotel is that the location is close to the beach. You pretty much just cross the street, walk 100 yards, and you are on the beach. There isn't very good shopping in Kata but you can go up to Karon or Patong for that. The hotel staff was very nice and willing to help in any way. Most of the staff spoke decent English but there were a few people who hardly spoke any at all. My only complaints were that there was no hot water for showers. It was luke warm, but definitely not hot. Also, my room's balcony faced the street and you could hear noise all night long; there was always music playing on the street. I stayed in room 3112, so maybe it was just were my room was located in the hotel. The breakfast was worth paying the few extra dollars. Overall, this was a great place to stay. It is super close to the beach and it was clean; I never saw any cockroaches or any bugs in my room. For the price and location, this was an excellent place to stay.

"It worked for me"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Mar 2, 2012
I saw reviews about unfriendly service, but didn't experience that at all (though I didn't barge in looking our sounding like a self-centered barbarian). Also, real people live here, Thai and foreign, which adds a nice dimension to staying here (eg, got to chat with locals, laugh with kids in the elevator, etc). A great place to catch your breath from/to Phuket airport.
"Very Nice Hotel Secluded from All the Others"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 28, 2012
This is a wonderful hotel for couples or ones just looking to get away from all the crowds. I will surly return if I come again to Rawai.
"Nice Romantic Getaway Close to Town and Beach"Reviewed by Jamie M of "Kabul, Afghanistan" on Jan 9, 2012
We booked a pool view room on the first floor so we just took a few steps out of the room and we could jump in the pool. There was a pool bar which was nice and the beach was a 10 minute walk along a lovely quiet path. The beach was lovely and pretty quiet. The room was nice but there were not enough table space inside the room. We ordered room service for dinner and the tiny round table was too small. Not sure why they don't provide a desk with a chair and another table to eat and/or store your items. The mini bar was lacking as there was not much in terms of snacks or much alcohol but the 7-11 was a short walk. Lots of excellent food within a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. Overall the hotel was very nice and it was in a quiet location for those not interested in the Pattaya-like insanity of Patong Beach. It is pretty low key which is better for couples and families in my opinion. Well worth staying there.
