"a quiet gem above the madness"

Varinda Garden sits on a hill above the tourist-filled beaches of Koh Samui Island and what you give up in near-ness to a beach is more than offset by the solitude, friendly service and unique charm of the resort. You can easily forget about the maddening traffic of motorcycles and cars on the road below. And with a large swimming pool filled with constantly- flowing, warm water, and surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants, who needs a beach anyway. A water slide is at the dividing line of two halves of the pool, and adults seem to enjoy it as much as kids. The decor of the restaurant and surrounding grounds is original and very tasteful -- in a very Thai way. Calling it quirky doesn't quite do it justice, since it all comes together nicely. Family-friendly, I'd love to return with our grandkids some day.

We were very pleased with the Chaweng. It is a beautiful property. The staff were polite and helpful. Great breakfast. Fun beach. 2 beautiful pools. Our room was a bit of let down from the pictures on line. We were given rooms toward the front of the hotel near the lobby. They were in the only building that didn't have a nice view of something (garden, pool, or beach). The room didn't look nearly as beautiful as the pictures. That said it was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
"Comfortable and relaxing place"

The hotel is conveniently located a short 10min drive from the airport. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff do a great job in making sure that the rooms are always clean. They even lit a scented candle in the bathroom twice a day. The pool is very nice and conveniently located just a short walk from the rooms. The beach by the hotel is very nice and the water very warm. Thevonly drawback is that there are no beach chairs on the beach... One of the best features of the hotel is the restaurant, Olivio, which serves both Italian and Thai. The menu is so extensive that you can eat there twice a day for a week and not each the same type of dish twice. If you're looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay, I would definitively recommend is place.

We had a great stay at the Napasai. It was not too crowded which was great and the service was very attentive. The bed was surprisingly hard but neither of us woke up with sore backs so that was good. The neighborhood was basically non existent and you needed a cab to get to the nearest areas.

We were originally a little hesitant about staying at a resort and spa as we wanted a more authentic Thai experience. But boy are we glad we chose to stay at the Bandara. The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was really good and the rooms and facilities were terrific.
We stayed in a delux room and had a spacious room with a sliding door that opened up to a big bathtub. The bathroom also had a separate glass shower. Bandara provided plenty of useful products and acesories. 2 bathrobes, 2 pairs of slippers, 2 pairs of sandals, wonderful toilitrees and two large beach towels. They also left complimentary water and even fruit after cleaning our rooms. Terrific attention to detail.
The other things we enjoyed at the hotel was our bed on our balcony. Great to just lay and chill out on. The pool area was beautiful. There are lots of activites throughout the day the hotel provides as well. And occasionally they provide a complimentary thank you party for guests with orders and punch. We were fortunate to be there for that.
The only knock I have is that the external services they set us up with... An elephant tour and transportation to krabi were not great experiences. I know it's not really their fault but it would have been nice to be set up with better options.
Overall Bandaranaike is a terrific stay for Samui.
