We were very pleased with the Chaweng. It is a beautiful property. The staff were polite and helpful. Great breakfast. Fun beach. 2 beautiful pools. Our room was a bit of let down from the pictures on line. We were given rooms toward the front of the hotel near the lobby. They were in the only building that didn't have a nice view of something (garden, pool, or beach). The room didn't look nearly as beautiful as the pictures. That said it was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
"Fairview - nice place on Ko Samui"

The hotel is away from the crowded beaches, which is nice. It has it's own private beach and a pool, so if you're just looking to relax it's a great choice. The only downside of being removed from the crowds is that it is also removed from restaurants, shops, and other things to do. The hotel does have a shuttle service, but you have to reserve your seat in advance and the shuttle only runs at specific times (it is not all day). The hotel food was decent, but overpriced for Thailand. I didn't find it to be as impressive as the reviews I'd read on TripAdvisor indicated. Instead of eating the hotel food, take a 10 minute bike ride up the road and find a place to eat there. There still aren't a lot of options on the road, but you'll get a similar meal for 1/2 the price.
"beautiful and unique"

the kale is an amazing hotel. the deck on the water is lovely, the breakfast is FANTASTIC, and the service was impeccable. four points of feedback for the hotel: 1. wish they had a constant shuttle to lamai and chaweng, considering how far it is (and taxis are expensive) 2. toiletries in open, slippery containers is not hygienic! 3. we were super bummed the pool was being cleaned for TWO days of our stay. 4. prices at hotel for lunch and dinner are crazy. we would have eaten at the hotel much more if they were more reasonable.
"secluded but great location"

We had a great time at Sunset Beach Resort. The service is exceptional compared to other resorts in Koh Samui. The breakfast is the best part of the resort. The only downside is that the rooms need some new sheets and the jacuzzi had leaves falling into it. Overall it was a great location.
"Beautiful and Quiet Place to Relax for a Few Days"

This hotel is perfect if you would like to relax and enjoy a few days off. While the location is not very central, a local town and beach is only about 1-2 km walk away, which is just about right if relaxation is the purpose of your trip. A rental car or motorbike is recommended if you plan to stay long and travel around.
The hotel is only about a year old, and as such it's very nice and new. Our room was quite large, with a big balcony offering a great view overlooking the ocean since this hotel is on top of a hill. As we were on the ground floor, it was also just a five meter walk to the amazing infinity pool. We had a nice big couch to stretch out on, and in the bathroom there's a fancy rain shower next to your personal jaczzi! Check out the two 360 pictures I've uploaded!
While the breakfast buffet was somewhat limited, I really loved the made-to-order omelette with cheese, ham, and bacon :)
Unfortunately, we managed to leave one of our cell phones in the taxi who took us to the ferry terminal. However, the hotel manager helped recover the phone, and shipped it back to us in Bangkok with tracking within two days. We'll definitely consider staying here again if we go back to Samui.

the tour desk was not very helpful, but the hotel staff was incredibly nice and ready to assist. It's kind of a in asecluded area, so getting around ko samui can get expensive via taxi, but if you want to stay at the hotel, it's great. Beach access is a little tricky.
