"a quiet gem above the madness"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 24, 2013
Varinda Garden sits on a hill above the tourist-filled beaches of Koh Samui Island and what you give up in near-ness to a beach is more than offset by the solitude, friendly service and unique charm of the resort. You can easily forget about the maddening traffic of motorcycles and cars on the road below. And with a large swimming pool filled with constantly- flowing, warm water, and surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants, who needs a beach anyway. A water slide is at the dividing line of two halves of the pool, and adults seem to enjoy it as much as kids. The decor of the restaurant and surrounding grounds is original and very tasteful -- in a very Thai way. Calling it quirky doesn't quite do it justice, since it all comes together nicely. Family-friendly, I'd love to return with our grandkids some day.

"Great place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 7, 2013
We were very pleased with the Chaweng. It is a beautiful property. The staff were polite and helpful. Great breakfast. Fun beach. 2 beautiful pools. Our room was a bit of let down from the pictures on line. We were given rooms toward the front of the hotel near the lobby. They were in the only building that didn't have a nice view of something (garden, pool, or beach). The room didn't look nearly as beautiful as the pictures. That said it was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
"Not far from centre, short distance to restaurants"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 4, 2013
We were happy with hotel we selected, very relaxing atmosphere. It would be even better if WI-FI was free.
"beautiful and unique"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 29, 2013
the kale is an amazing hotel. the deck on the water is lovely, the breakfast is FANTASTIC, and the service was impeccable. four points of feedback for the hotel: 1. wish they had a constant shuttle to lamai and chaweng, considering how far it is (and taxis are expensive) 2. toiletries in open, slippery containers is not hygienic! 3. we were super bummed the pool was being cleaned for TWO days of our stay. 4. prices at hotel for lunch and dinner are crazy. we would have eaten at the hotel much more if they were more reasonable.

"Amazing service but not walkable to anywhere"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 6, 2013
We had amazing customer service- the best customer service out of the 4 hotels that we stayed in during our trip. The hotel was nice, clean, modern. The food and drinks were good. The only downside is the location. It is not walkable to the beach (or anywhere) but they do provide a shuttle to/from 2 beaches throughout the day. Overall, a great place to stay. I would recommend it if you do not mind taking a shuttle (or taxis) to/from the beaches/shops.
"relaxing spot"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 6, 2013
the tour desk was not very helpful, but the hotel staff was incredibly nice and ready to assist. It's kind of a in asecluded area, so getting around ko samui can get expensive via taxi, but if you want to stay at the hotel, it's great. Beach access is a little tricky.
