"Modern, efficient, comfortable"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 4, 2012
Very nice, modern hotel in a quiet location, 8 minute walk from T-bana stations and even walkable from Hotorget shopping. Walking felt very safe in this neighborhood. I was offered an upgrade to a deluxe room, which I appreciated. Room was spacious by European standards, & well laid out. Free Internet worked fine, and desk space was generous. I liked having a chaise and ottoman so I didn't have to watch TV from bed. Breakfast buffet was excellent. ICA grocery directly next door was super-convenient for evening snacks, open till 10 every night. Hotel staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. My only minor complaints were: a bit of noise from people walking in the room above (my room in back of hotel was very quiet - no street noise. There is a playground but no kids either morning I was there). Room lacked kettle and tea/coffee which many 4star hotels offer. Curtains didn't block as much light as I'd like. In summer, this might be a bigger problem with 4am sunrise! Overall, a very good hotel if you don't mind being a bit away from the center of things.

"This ain't your average American hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 12, 2012
The Best Western Kom Hotel is in a great neighborhood - very close to lots of great restaurants, walking distance from the main shopping streets and very close to the Tunnelbana, yet the overall neighborhood is very quiet. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is great in the typical Swedish tradition. If you walk in expecting a spacious room, though, you'll be disappointed. Single rooms are just that - single. The bed itself is small and the room is narrow and there's an auxiliary bunk bed that folds down. Still, the bed is very comfy, linens are clean and of high quality. And if you're going to Stockholm to spend time in your hotel room, save money and go someplace closer to home. I have tried more expensive hotels, newer hotels and more boutique-ish hotels in Stockholm but keep coming back to the Kom for its combination of value, location, quiet and (once you know what to expect) comfort.

The room was quiet and clean. The lighting was definitely set for mood - we would have appreciated better light for reading and tasks. Front desk staff were very helpful.
"Great location & Value, average lodging experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 29, 2012
Just a 5 minute walk from the train station and an easy walk to all the major sights, this is a great location. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Room was clean, quiet and well appointed Euro small but completely adequate EXCEPT the promised WIFI in the room did not exist unless you put your iPhone next to the door to the hallway or out the window - frustrating! Strong WIFI in the lobby tho. Covers on the bed were a bit thin. Bathroom was compact but great shower with hand held unit and rain shower head, also nice toiletry goodies! Cold (or perhaps very discreet?) front desk always efficiently looking at their computers rather than greeting the guests. Yummy cookies always in the lobby!
