"Not like home, but an OK place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 13, 2013
I stayed here for six days. The hotel is comfortable, with many shops nearby and the train to the city an easy five minute walk. My room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is somewhat varied and the food is fresh and good. The wireless Internet wasn't the best, but at least it worked reasonably well. The hotel could do a better job with customer service. I arrived at the hotel at about 13:15 after a 22 hour flight and was informed that I couldn't check in until the formal check-in time of 14:00. Later on I found out that the hotel was only about 25% occupied. At check-out I was told that breakfast that day was not included and, who knows why, I had to pay for it. I guess it made no difference that I provided six days of income when the hotel was largely empty. I recommend this hotel, but don't have warm feelings about the place.

Some maintenance issues in bathroom: sink faucet drained poorly; hot water faucet wouldn't shut off completely; toilet seat would not stay up on its own. Otherwise, hotel was very nicely kept. Room was small but comfortable. Don't know if the room or hotel warranted the per diem rate.charged. Hotel staff was excellent and helpful. Ate breakfast in the very comfortable dining room; did not eat our evening meal there because we found the menu over-priced.

"Beautiful retreat"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Sep 1, 2012
Vila Bicuda was amazing. What a great stay. It is peaceful and quiet with beautiful landscaping and pool. There is a convenient center 'city' with a restaurant, grocery, bakery,etc.. which made it very easy even without a car. Cascais and Sintra are just a short taxi ride away too if you want to get out and explore. There were other families with kids so we didn't feel conscious about ours playing. I am still waking up in the morning thinking I am still there. Highly recommended.

"A Hidden Gem"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jul 14, 2012
I was pleasantly surprised with Club do Lago. It was clean, very well located, and the staff were particularly attuned to the needs of the guests. The work out facility could have been a bit more usable, but it was sufficient. I would definitely stay there again.
"Great location near beaches and Lisbon, but quiet"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 2, 2012
This is a very conveniently located, efficient hotel. Rooms are on the small side but very clean and have all the amenities you really need--plus balconies w/ sweeping seaviews. European style beds (a double is two twins pushed together) and no tub, but otherwise very comfortable and a bargain. 24 hr front desk coverage, which was very helpful when our delayed plane got us in at 5:30 am. English-speaking desk clerks. Breakfast (buffet) and internet are not free, but reasonable--there's also a pretty outdoor pool. We never tried the restaurant for lunch or dinner, but nice to know it's there. Parking is free, which is a big deal in this part of Portugal. Easy walk to the train to Lisbon (30 min ride), and boardwalk to Cascais just about a mile in the other direction. We had no interest in the Casino, but it's a two minute walk for those who do. Despite how close the Casino is, the only noises we heard were birdsong. The beach right in Estoril is lovely, and the people friendly and welcoming. Not a luxury hotel, but for the location and price, quite perfect.
