With delicious Atlantic breezes and a big blue sky overhead, summer holidays in Lisbon are outdoors...
Lantern-lit fado bars, dreamy castle views and vintage trams are just part of short breaks in Lisbon....
Garlicky shellfish, fiery chicken piri-piri and cinnamon-dusted custard tarts all land on your plate...

Great stay. Close to the metro and airport. Easy to get to the City Center and other parts of Lisbon proper. Room was clean and customer service was great.
"Great design, limited functionality."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 5, 2013
The hotel was conceived with the utmost care, to impress those who value design and sophistication. In the process, some details were lost --particularly those related to practical function and comfort. Example: the tub looks like a contemporary piece of modern art, but it's extremely uncomfortable to use, leaking water as the Niagara falls.
"Lovely & Quaint"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 4, 2012
This hotel is not in the heart of the major Lisbon center however, it was nice to have a quiet hotel. It is about a 20 min walk to a major square & bus p/u is just a few steps from the hotel. As Janelus Verdes is very quaint & the rooms are a nice size. It is very much like a B&B & breakfast included would have been nice for the rate paid. The staff is wonderful & although promised a king size bed thru hotels.com, our rm had 2 twins pushed together. Otherwise, I would have given the rating a 5 for comfort.

All round, this is a very good hotel and I would recommend it to other travellers. There are shared facilities (Pool, gym, Roof-top terrace bar) with another sister hotel next door, the Tivoli, which is 5* The swimming pool is adequate and service is very good. We had booked a king-size double room for our week-long stay but when we arrived they only had a small twin room available. When I reported this at reception they moved us to a larger double room which was fine. I thought the prive was a little high, but then again as we travelled in high season, all hotels in Lisbon seemed to be a little higher than I had expected.
"Great hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Aug 7, 2012
Hotel is just outside of major tourist area (walking distance). Very clean and modern. Hotel staff was extremely helpful in using public transportation and making dinner suggestions. Would definitely stay again!!!
"Beautifully renovated convent"Reviewed by Rima C of "Washington, DC" on Apr 13, 2012
This is a charming European hotel. The rooms are beautifully appointed and maintanined and the location is excellent, a few doors from the French Embassy and some lovely shops. Delicious breakfasts and a lovely restaurant. Lisbon is a najor city, so you have to be prepared to take taxis, trams, buses or metro.
