The setting and beach were absolutely beautiful. However, upon checking in, we were told that there had been a plumbing problem and that no rooms were available. The concierge told us that the hotel would call us a cab and send us to another hotel, and the attitude seemed to be that we should simply accept this (as if we had not booked at Boa Vista...) We asked for further information about the hotel, and it was one of the most poorly reviewed hotels in Albufeira. Boa Vista did ultimately find us a room, but it was a very bad start to our stay. Throughout our stay, we felt that any time we asked for information (for something as simple as a dinner reservation), the attitude was that we were bothering them by asking. That said, the beach is fairly convenient and we paid a relatively low price. Breakfast was also good.
"A Good Price on an a Hotel this close to the Beach"

The hotel room was satisfactory, comfortable, and clean. The staff was courteous and helpful. The pluses were the Restaurant Martins across the street and the beach access just down the hill. Price was very reasonable considering this was the Algarve in summer.
The hotel is nice. The only downside to it is that, it's a bit far from the city center. The bed in the room we stayed in is not comfortable, it is very HARD. I requested a queen size bed since it's just my husband and I but we got to the room and got 2 twin beds separated from each other. So needless to say, my husband and I slept on separate beds for the 2 nights that we were there. :( Even the trendle bed on the living room needs updating (new matresses please).
We were there in the spring and were able to get a great rate. I really liked that it was a big place with a kitchen full of dishes, cups and pans, and it had a nice living room. We really liked staying there and would recommend it. It's clean and comfortable. You could hear the neighbors through the walls, so it might be a problem if you have loud neighbors, but we didn't have any problems with neighbors.
