"Right in the heart of Old San Juan"

It was not fancy, but was located right in the center of Old San Juan. The staff was very helpful with taxis, maps, recommendations for dinner and breakfast, and directions. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The young man checking us in could not have been nicer. He told us our room was ready but if we waited a little while longer he could get us a little nicer room. He was very pleasant to deal with. The bellman was equally nice. We try to stay there on our way home for one night and we are very rarely disappointed.
"Perfect for a quick stop"

We were in San Juan for only a day and a half and the Miramar worked well for a quick visit. We saw Old San Juan and had a good dinner close by at Limas. Breakfast at the Miramar was good and we had excellent service from Sean, our waiter. Be sure to check out the roof if you stay here.
"Not for everyone"

If you are looking for a modern hotel with an attached TGIFridays, beach lounger, and swimming pool, this isn't the place for you. We loved it because it was right in the heart of Old San Juan. Very quaint and bustling neighborhood hotel within walking distance of the Forts, churches and monuments. It's in a gritty but vibrant area that gives you a flavor of the city you're not going to get elsewhere. We wandered aroung at night and felt perfectly safe. Just a word about the elevator: It is interesting, to say the least. It's been inspected and found to be safe, but don't expect the smoothest of rides. Just part of the charm, I guess. The room was adequate. Don't be alarmed by the windows in other reviews. For the most part, the view isn't great to begin with. Only real beef was that our bed was a box spring only; no matress. Fortunately, we were so tired and had enough of the local Mojitos that it was a non-issue.
"Good for one night"

We stayed here the night before leaving for a cruise. It was clean and comfy but not fancy. Front desk was very helpful. Walgreens right around the corner within walking distance. We couldn't find anywhere to walk to for breakfast. The shower was not to great. Not very much water pressure and not real hot. Had a nice little patio off from bedroom. It's good for one night but any longer, I'd stay somewhere else.
