"Average hotel with a below average location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 18, 2013
While the hotel itself isn't bad, the location leaves a lot to be desired. The hotel is located on Roxas Blvd which is good, but neighborhood behind the hotel is slumsville. The hotel staff and service was very good. The room was no smoking but smelled like someone smoked in it and was cleaned to try and get rid of the smell. The buffet breakfast was geared more to local tastes (read Filipino), while I prefer western style like French toast, pancakes, etc. I walked south from the hotel to a pancake house to eat my breakfast. Bottomline: I've stayed in worse places, so this place isn't bad. I would stay again in light of the negatives I've highlighted, due to one simple fact, price. The price is right (great) for what you get.

Located not in the best neighborhood. Got to be cautious/careful when stepping out of the hotel. Many pimps bother you when they know you are a tourist. Located in the city center. Easy transportation.

I stay here everytime I travel to Manila. It used to be a cheap, clean place to stay, even though the rooms are small. But recently, it seems to be increasingly more expensive to stay there.
"Greenhills Modern Elan Hotel and San Juan Area"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 6, 2013
This hotel has every accomodation a person could want - swimming pool, hot tub, dining room with American Style Food (whatever you want they have it - be it pancakes, waffles, omelets, toast, hash browns, rice, fish, fruit, etc. This is the second time that we stayed here at this wonderful hotel namely because it's within walking distance (just across the street and around the corner to the Greenhill Shopping Center and Mall. Talk about outstanding prices - this is truly a woman's paradise when it comes to jewelry (I am an American Male who resides with my Filipina Wife on Mindanao Island, so this review isn't from a young lady) pearls (both fresh and salt water), gems of all kinds, necklaces, wrist and anklet bracelets, watches, clothing, cell phones, electronic items, furniture, makeup, all different kinds of restaurants to please the pallet. So much to see and do and the first time we spent almost 3-days in the shopping complex because of all there is to do and see. The second time was when our daughter was flying back to the U.S. and had a 10-hour layover in Manila. We will continue to use Greenhills Elan Modern Hotel as our place to stay if we ever need to do any further shopping in the Greenhills Shopping Center again.
"Pleasant Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 3, 2013
Hotel will be undergoing extensive room renovations to be completed by March 2013 I believe. I've stayed here many times and enjoy the hotel/casino however the rooms were in need of some sprucing up. Can't wait for my next visit in may 2013 so i can see all the renovations first hand. Prices have gone up a bit but I still consider it a good value for the money.
