The hotel was gorgeous, staff very friendly and all english speaking. Beautifully kept and very impressive when you first walk in. Didnt get to use the amenities although you have full access to the pool, steam room and the sauna but we where out in the city all day every day and never got round to it. The room was fantasic, no complaints there at all. Cleaning staff did turn up at 730am on the Friday morning that we were there but that was our fault too as we didnt put the do not disturb sign on the door! Still that was super early for housekeeping. Didnt make that mistake again. Very convenient location, found it really easy to get our bearings from where we were located. The airport shuttle bus stops right at the end of the street and you have like a 30 second walk to the hotel. Your right next to Andrassy Avenue and the sighseeng bus stops are everywhere, although dont expect them to be bang on time. The airport shuttle bus stops right at the end of the street and you have like a 30 second walk to the hotel. Really fantastic trip, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone :)”
My husband and I regularly travel to Central and Eastern Europe. The Sofitel is our special "splurge" when we travel through Budapest. This is a wonderful hotel with a friendly and ready-to-help staff. We spend the extra $$ to have a river view room. It's a treat worth indulging in and the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed enough to intice you to stay in and simply enjoy watching the river run by. When you're ready to go out, though, you are just steps away from the Vaci Utca, St. Stephens, the Funicular across the bridge that takes you quickly up to Buda's Castle Hill, and a variety of restaurants and markets to suit any budget. My husband and I love this hotel!”
Unfortunately it is not possible to open the windows. Air-condition is set in winter and summer month to a standard and centrally distributed degree, for me it was too warm and therefore uncomfortable in the night. Would have returned if this issue would not exist.”
A comfortable, well-maintained hotel, with excellent staff. The breakfast buffet was huge! And the location and private beach were terrific. We would stay here again. Our only complaint is that the complimentary wi-fi was undependable.”
WE STAY AT THE DANUBUIS HOTELS IN BUDAPEST AND PUT THIS IN A 4-STAR CLASS HOTEL. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. HAVE WONDERFUL PICTURES AND THE HOTEL WAS RIGHT ON THE WALKING AREA TO ALL THE SITES LOCATED RIGHT THERE IN PECS. WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE, AND WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN. THE STREET NAME TO ENTER INTO THE PARKING GARAGE AND HOTEL IS DIFFERENT, AS YOU CANNOT GET IN THROUGH THE WALKKING AREA. I HAVE ASKED HOTEL TO ADVISE ROUTE IN WITH GPS.”
Excellent Hotel, desk staff very polite and helpful with travel directions, recomendations, everything and speak very good english. Room very clean, breakfeast buffet excellent with hot food or whatever you wanted, but no special orders. All of this and more. Beautiful Old City, all within walking distance( starts about two blocks away) EXCELLENT LOCATION! I can't say enough about all the good in this Place & Hotel. The best part is of all this wonderful place is the price. You can't go wrong here. I'll be back for sure with more of my friends and family. You can eat in town good price also. Lots of choices and very friendly atmosphere. Walking to hotel late at night is no problem. Safe clean town.”
This hotel is brand new (1 year old) and I would rate it as a very strong 4 star hotel. My only complaint was that the pillows were too big to be comfortable. Free wifi was great, the flat screen TVs were new and the food at the restaurant was very tasty. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. The walk to the center of the old town is around 8-10 minutes.”
There are two positive points for this hotel: one - near the airport and free shuttle to the airport, two - free and complete fitness services. On the other hand the breakfast is ready and served from 4 am. But it is far from the city and the rooms are ordinary, they are not luxury rooms. Anyway we were satisfied for staying one night in our way to Ukraine.”
very good accomodation with impressive spa and gym. It is a little bit far from the city and the public transportation, but close to the airport (free shuttle). The restaurant is good, with one-two vegetarian disches.”
