Excellent self catering accommodation very well located on the west coast of Basse Terre only a few minutes walk from the superb beach at Grande Anse and only a few minutes drive from the picturesque village of Deshaies. The pool could do with some shade as at present non is provided. The hotel breakfast is not that inspiring and is easily avoided by doing it yourself. Hire of a car is essential and the best deals seem to be from the major operators.”
I was just looking for a place to sleep and wasn't expecting much from the price but pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The room had the basics - a bed, towels, soap, AC, etc - which was all I needed. Tip - don't get the breakfast there because there are local places nearby where you can get breakfast though at 6 euros its wasn't too bad. This isn't a luxury hotel but if you're looking for a nice, clean place to sleep while exploring Guadeloupe, consider Karaibes.”
This was a great hotel to stay at if you're not too picky. It is a short walk to the hotel beach which isn't the best on the island but a nice beach none the less. We had hot water on the first day and cold water the rest of the trip. We went during the off season so there were many items on the menu of the hotel restaurant that were not available. Each unit has a kitchenette which was nice. All in all I would stay there again.”
There were mixed reviews of this hotel which made me nervous, but I thought it was excellent. Well-located....not only to explore Pointe-a-Pitre, but also if you're taking the ferry to Marie-Galante or some of the other islands. The service was excellent. There was some confusion about me having booked and paid for the room "over the internet", but it was sorted out quickly and professionally. The woman at reception also alerted me I didn't have to be at the ferry terminal as early as I had been told, and that I could share a taxi with other people from the hotel who were taking the same boat - which saved me a considerable price on the journey. The room I had was far better than some of the reviews make out. And the breakfast was very generous - tasty baked goods, yoghurt, juice....even the possibility of eggs. Well done!”

Perfect location - close to all the sights on Basse-terre, and directly on a very nice beach. Staff friendly, bungalow spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet huge and tasty, but noisy and crowded because a lot of families stay here. Despite of a lot of kids around the beach experience is still beautiful with amazing views and colors. Car is a must if you want to move out of the hotel, but the hotel also offers a lot of excursions and activities if you don't rent a car.”
Very good experience at Hotel Caraibes Bonheur. Recommended. The hotel is located on top of a little hill in the middle of tropical plants and trees, so the environment is very pleasant (although you can sometimes hear the noise from the road and not all rooms have a sea view, but these are minor drawbacks). There is a swimming poll and the closest beach is a 10-15 min walk. The rooms are also clean and new, and staff is very friendly.”
