Beautiful hotel; good service and great entertainment. Food is ok although could improve if salt level is reduced. Restaurants which require reservation offer better service and food. In general, had a great vacation.

We went to the DR for our honeymoon. We decided to use our reward points and stay at three different resorts so we could get different experiences from the trip. Our first stop was at the Excellence. The roads were fine, don't let other reviewers scare you. The hotel was amazing, very safe, very clean, very professional. The beaches are raked and cleaned constantly so there was never anything to spoil the view of the ocean. The beaches are set up so that every chair has a cabana so it didn't have tat crowded feel to it at all. We always felt like the most important people on the island. All of the staff called us by our names, they must have briefings before shift change because the excellence club staff made everything personal and romantic for us. The only time bugs were an issue was when we took a midnight stroll on the beach and close to the water we ran into a patch of mosquitoes but never on hotel grounds. The food was much better than expected. The seafood ceviche at the grill has to be the best I have ever had anywhere and the chicken tacos at breakfast are outstanding. You don't need reservations (which we did have to have at the other hotels and is not really convenient) so that was a big plus. The drinks here were superior to any of the other hotels as well. The coconut drinks are the best and none of the other hotels had them. Plus coconut oil at the bottom of the drinks a natural bug repellent! The cookout on the beach is a fun way to meet other guests. We had an amazing time there and Juan Gabriel was a fantastic server so we tipped him generously. You certainly do not need to tip to get great service but I don't see any reason not to. We brought $400 in small change for tips and trinkets for 5 days and it was well spent. The highlight was definitely going to Nancys for the couples massage. Can't beat the price or the service! I can not wait to visit other Excellence hotels and revisit this one in the DR. We satay in the Club section and it is exactly as they describe no deception...My only critic of the hotel is the house wine, not very good but you can buy bottles at your meals. We are Tennis player and we brought our equipement even if they are not saying anything about Tennis training and Lesson on the web...so we did lessons with Tony overthere and this is the reason why we will go back in November I already book the hotel because we learn a lot . Tony is from Spain so he is teaching the spanish technique...different and great...is a great coach...our next tryp will be lessons every day for me and my husban. Our room was beautiful and the view was incredible. I just want to go back we did a lot of different hotel on the Bavaro beach...but this one is my choice

I only stayed four days and I have such a great time that I am planning to take the whole family next year. The hotel is surrounded with security guard and it makes you feel safe. I was amazed with the night entertainments (shows and the dance night club) located near the beach. all the staffs were very friendly and the whole area of the hotel was cleaned and made me feel like home. I would recommended because it has everything you need to have a enjoyable vacation.

The hotel is centrally located on walking distance from Restaurants and shopping mall recomended only during daytime. The service from staff is excelllent the rooms are clean and recently painted. Gardens are well maintained. I had a very pleasant stay the only complaint is that I had to pay for the parking .

i have been there four times it is a nice hotel i enjoy my stay there it is clean n nice ,the oly thing that bothers me is that they do not follow the resevations when you make!!front desk is bad not helpfull at all! i reserved a smoking room n they give me a non smoking room ,i asked for ocean vew and they give me something overlooking the back of the hotel..my prevew stay there my girlfriend had forgotten her id at home they checked the records and found a photocopy of her id and after 45 minutes they told her she had to go home n bring the original!!that i did not understood !but i will recomend it to others its nice n clean and relaxing ..i go there again but they must train the front desk better ....

-was the cheapest listed on the site I searched -main drawback is no internet in rooms, only in lobby -guests also get free use of well equipped gym across the street -very close to beach and main action packed street in sosua

Our stay at the Lifestyle Crown Residences began the first night with a drenching rain storm. It was a bit of bad timing as it happen to be the welcoming night of the Gala. The brave travelers, us included, tracked on to the crowded food tent and the celebration went on with awesome entertainment and spectacular fireworks. Food was plentiful as the menu provided a variety of offerings that should please the majority of appetites. The most delightful element of the event was the staff who kept spirits up with flowing drinks and ready smiles that conveyed their main desire was for their guests to have a good time. The rain continued off and on for the reminder of the week but the spirit of the staff did not waiver. From the desk clerk to house keeping anything you needed night or day was only a call away. Food servers and bartenders became your friends and even the timeshare salesman really will take no for an answer and remain pleasant throughout your stay. The spa was awesome and again I felt very appreciated and welcome. The grounds was beautiful and well maintained as were the rooms. One caveat to mention was my mattress was too firm for my taste however my sister's room had a much softer mattress so I can't be sure how the overall resort rated on bedding. The resort was very overall very relaxing, the entertainment outstanding, and best of all we had a wonderful time. The best compliment to this resort that I can give on this review is that I will be a return vistor for many years to come.

Good overall standard, rooms could do with an update, especially when they show you the standard at the villas. Good Variety of food and drinks. Had a few issues which customer services could have handled better.

This visit probably is my one millionth's visit. I grew up going almost every weekend to Boca Chica, (and I am not a spring chicken). For me, it is the best, safest and most beautiful beach near the city. Because of its closeness to the capital, Santo Domingo, it might get overcrowded sometimes, so try to avoid weekends, if possible. Lots of activities lead by hotel staff, very friendly staff, too. Food is great and plenty. Now, if you want excellent seafood, I would suggest to visit an on-site restaurant not included in any packages. Also, you might want to wander outside of the perimeters of the hotel. There are a lot to see and eat in the town. Enjoy!!!

Nice facility and pretty beach. Security staff keeps beach from being as crazy as the surrounding beach and tries to keep the vendors moving. Not all vendors are bad; there is nothing like a complete pedicure and foot massage for less than 10 bucks! The staff is very nice. If the food was decent, it would be a pretty great place to vacation.
