Most enjoyable stay. Staff was very hlepful and friendly. Amenities suited our needs very well--free internet/email access was particularly useful--would stay here again. available private tour guide was excellent--FGR,Toronto,Canada”
Stayed at the Torremayor for one night returning from Mendoza to catch a flight from Santiago Airport. Well maintained hotel, small elevators and smaller rooms but not cramped. Staff were great, spoke English and were very helpful. Rooms were advertised with having wifi access, but you actually have to buy a card at the front desk which is inexpensive but is a little hassle and who likes surprises. Hotel is starting to get a little dated on the inside but still very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is very good and the rooftop pool gives you a great view of the downtown and very clean and safe neighbourhood. Lots's of restaurants and shopping close by. For what we wanted this was perfect and priced very well. We definetly would go back. 5 minutes from Costanestro Norte and 20 minutes from Santiago Airport.”
Looks like an american hotel in a country where hotels are usually different. Even the breakfast is more american than chilean. Everything was fine in the suite (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one kitchenette and one living room), except that no WiFi was available in the hotel!!! WiFi is usually free in hotels in Chile, even in restaurants and cafes, so I don't understand why in this hotel you have to pay to get access: US$2 for 15 minutes, and only available in the lobby... Also, note that in each of the two bedrooms, there were 2 single beds, no double or queen bed.”
We (2 adults) stayed one night, our 2nd visit. Rooms excellent: large, king size bed, good safe, super bath room, room modern and pleasant, altogether well-appointed. Best of all the view: hotel slightly to the north of Valparaiso, rooms above the sea (and rocks) so you look out over the bay, a beach to one side, birds everywhere, and Valparaiso spread out to the southeast – marvelous at night. Hotel look and ambiance very refined. Welcoming manner.: reception staff fluent in English, and the hotel sensitive to North Americans' wishes. Attractive restaurant overlooking the bay: you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy a smoke without bothering others. Breakfast buffet good, eggs prepared specially are notably fine, but the choice of foods more limited than in equivalent hotels in Santaigo, Chile. The hotel sits on the ocean between Vina del Mar, the resort town, and Valparaiso, the working port, so a bit tricky to get to and leave – make sure you get detailed directions. Because of location possible to drive or take taxis to attractions, notably museums and shopping and restaurants, in both cities (Vina best for shopping, Valparaiso for museums) -- budget fifteen minutes or more to get anywhere. In Valparaiso foreigners best to park the car in the downtown area (there are underground parking lots) and take taxis unless you relish driving up and down hills thru winding roads surrounded by aggressive drivers. Would stay here again.”
Overlooking the sea the views from the rooms are amazing.I asked about air conditioning and was told to just open the window-the sea is cold because it comes up the coast from the antartctic so even though the land temperature is high you can still get a very pleasant see breeze if you need it.It is the reason almost no hotels have air con-they just don't need it. Service overall was excellent with everyone doing their best to understand what we wanted (mostly the staff are not English speaking but for a few words) .Bar snacks and dinner were very good, but the breakfast less so. Salt water spa was fun but too warm for real swimming.”
The staff was excellent in every possible way!! The bathroom was lacking only insofar as roominess, but understandable with the old construction. The views were phenominal! The food in the restaurant was top notch, but the prices were beyond what we could afford.”

I highly recommend Hotel Santa Cruz as a choice for overnight stay while on a wine trip. The breakfast was amazing with many choices of food and drink. Check-in was quick and easy. The price was better on from an online booking site such as this than if you call the hotel. Wi-fi access was decent, though a little weak in some areas. Overall, an excellent place to stay.”
My fiancee and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Terravina hotel. The staff was very helpful with recommending local vineyard tours and scheduling them for us. The hotel is quaint and in the middle of a vineyard with surrounding mountains to look at during your stay. They maintain the hotel well and ensure your room is cleaned well each day. There are no additional frills at this hotel however,so just expect great views and large rooms, but not necessarily plush or overly comfortable furnishings. The beds are very hard and we woke up every day quite sore from sleeping on them. If you like hard beds this will suit you fine.”
