We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It's location is great because it's close to a lot of the attractions. The Americana Falls is nearer to this hotel and the Horseshoe Falls is a 10 to 15-minute walk. I've stayed in nicer hotels but the location and the price make up for the amenities that may be present in more modern hotels.”
This hotel is in a great location as the mini tram shuttle is located a few minutes from the hotel and saves the long steep walk up and down to the falls. It has a lovely leisure centre which nobody seems to use. The fallsview rooms are worth the extra cost as our room had a spectacular view of the falls. Rooms have 2 queen beds, small cloakroom with storage and mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. It is in a good central location beside hotels and restaurants.”
The hotel is decent enough It's excellently placed overlooking the falls - but one must not be misled by the advertising. Our falls view room was actually a (very) partial view. Folding bed was very uncomfortable and in fact the kids ended up sleeping in our beds. Parking is ridiculously expensive at CAD 15, when you can get free parking from the casino next door (after registering as a player and playing a bit).”
Stayed at the Cascadia with my wife and daughter from July 26th to July 29th 2010. Overall experience was very pleasant with excellent facilities and services. My only criticism would be the fact that a security safe was not provided in the room although we did not have any negative experience in this regard.”
Stayed here while on my own in Vancouver for 4 nights...very nice hotel in a good part of downtown. Booked a suite which had a well equipped little kitchen, room was spacious and very clean. Easy walking distance to a local supermarket, lots of downtown shops, Canada Place etc. Eateries and local pub nearby too. The Absolute Spa was a really nice experience, had a fab pedicure that came with free make-up touchup and, bizarrely, a chicken salad!! Hotel restaurant was very nice, with an excellent waitress Jennifer. Only complaint was lack of free wifi in the bedrooms, although room rate was not bad value, or there is free wifi in the lobby, so a lot of people just hung around there with their various gadgets! Would book again.”
My husband & I spent two very comfortable nights at this hotel. We found it very convenient to most everything we needed and wanted to go to. Of course very easy to access the new stadium where the football game was being played. We will stay at this hotel again for sure!”
This is a great hotel for a city break - it is not luxurious but has what you need i.e. clean room, good bathroom, attentive staff all at a reasonable price. My husband and I spent four nights there and since the Toronto Film Festiveal was on we were worried that costs would be inflated - not the case. The location is great - two minutes from Dundas Square.”
The styling of this hotel is dated. But one generally does not travel to TO for great style or design. The hotel was very comfortable and the suite was large. Our baby daughter could sleep in the bedroom while we could mill away in the living room. Location was great. Next to Bloor/Bay *shopping*, Bay/Queen *Biz*, Spadina *Chinatown*, Cabbagetown (alt) and seedy Yonge Street (at this height) but interesting eateries everywhere. I ususally would not stay at such an hotel for its style, but was pleasantly surprised - they offered a bargain on the Suite. I found out that the pool was in maintenance while we stayed which perhaps explains why the lower rates...”
The location of this hotel is fantastic...close to Union Station so access to trains and subway is very easy. Other attractions close by - CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Eaton Centre etc. Visiting with my sister -in- law so we had a twin room. Very clean, beds and pillows comfortable. Room a bit on the small side. Would not want lots of luggage in room. We stayed on the second floor and some noise at night time (bins being collected, usually around 4.30am!). Otherwise very happy with room. Tip: we discovered there is 15miles of underground shops....which is very handy when weather is bad. This can be accessed via Union Station or Royal York Hotel which is opposite the Strathcona. Finally we took bus from airport to Strathcona Hotel which was very convenient...on time and very reasonable. Book on line before you go and you get an extra discount. 70 dollars return for both of us. Much cheaper than a limo which costs at least 60 dollars one way ! Would definitely go back to this hotel and recommend it to visitors travelling to Toronto.”
Good hotel with a large, comfortable and clean room. One drawback was that if your room was on the first floor (we were in a 'dog friendly' room) it was actually necessary to have two short flights of stairs to walk. Also, to get to breakfast, more stairs were necessary. This was fine for us but older couples might be in some difficulty. The area of the hotel is very nice, further from town but still near restaurants and other main attractions. Pet fees were higher here with a fee per day per dog where other places we have been charged per day period.”
Excellent hotel, new and clean. Big rooms with all facilities you can imagine. Only catch is that they tried to charge for parking even though there was no mention of any extra charge when I booked. They waived it when I explained but very annoying to have to fight for this on arrival!”
We were given coupons upon check-in for the lounge/tapas bar. We went and enjoyed the "The Veneto" very much. The room was large and comfortable with modern decor. It was our first time and I would definitely go back.”
