The hotel is lovely and all round very good indeed. The only problmems we encountered were the room not being available to us until 4.30pm and so having to go and order a drink at the bar to pass time until then and then when we returned to check in the queue was over 15minutes long which for a hotel of the Farimont standards and brand etc was pretty poor. Otherwise, the hotel was very good. The room was excellent and comfortable with great view of the Ocean and golf course. Bathrooms were high spec too. Restaurants were very good too and food standard was excellent. Complimentary Ferry to Hamilton was also excellent little service. Location of hotel is quite good. The ferry to hamilton is convenient and also great to explore the south shore beaches and walking paths. A taxi to hamilton is approx US$20 one way and takes 15minutes. We thought that the Bermuda was expensive by general standards but we also think it is a case of you get what you pay for. All in all we would happily return to this hotel again no question but there were just some little things they could rectify that would make it complaint free!!!”
The Grotto Bay was the second cheapest option we could find in Bermuda (with 30% discount), and was good value on the extremely expensive island. It was conveniently located close to the airport (without any noise pollution), so taxi end up costing less than $10. The room was good sized, with air conditioning, fridge and a coffee maker. The only minus was that there was no free wireless access. But then again, everything in Bermuda is expensive!! The beach was excellent as well, with white sand and plenty of desk chairs to relax in.”
I'd definitely stay there again, really cosy hotel at a reasonable price. Our beach front room opened up right to the ocean, only a 20 meter walk away, which was amazing. The room was clean and in good condition, the staff was really nice, especially the manager. The hotel itself is located close to a grocery store if you don't feel like eating at overpriced restaurants all the time (the hotel restaurant quality vs price isn't that great). The bus system, scooters and cabs can take you downtown (5 minute or so drive) or to visit depending on your preference and budget.”
Service was exceptional with very friendly and accommodating staff. Some of the amenities were closed as it was off season (e.g. salt water pool). The hotel was abuzz with runners as it was race weekend (I being one of them), so it was hard to eat at the hotel's restaurants; but the hotel is next door to a market and countless good restaurants so it wasn't a problem. Our room was upgraded to a one-bedroom suite which allowed for my two-and-half year old daughter to sleep in a separate room - which allowed me to sleep much more peacefully.”
My friend and I recently stayed 4 days at the Rosedon. It was my 3rd visit to the island and her first. I did a lot of research before choosing this hotel and I was extremely pleased. Excellent personal service and comfortable accomodations. We stayed in a guest room above pool level. The room was well appointed, ample storage and excellent t.v. reception. The carpet could of used replacing, but other than that the room was fine. We used room service one night - excellent soup of the day and sandwich - just like you would make at home. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast - we chose to have it served on the main house terrace. Again like home made. Meals are preset, one set choice, but the staff seemed to be flexible. Front desk reception staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant. If you like big hotels, modern rooms and on site restaurants, gift shops etc. this is not the place for you. I found this hotel a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of a big hotel. I really enjoyed my stay at the Rosedon and I will rebook without hesitation for my next visit to this beautiful island. My only negative comment and this is not against the hotel. I like to walk and the Rosedon is on the side of the road where there is no sidewalk. We were off season so there was little traffic, but it was a little dicey to cross to the other side to get to the sidewalk. The Rosedon has two driveways that lead to the hotel, one in particular is at a bend of the the road creating a blindspot when you want to cross. The city should really put a crosswalk at this location.”
I have been coming to Bermuda since 1997 and have stayed all over the Island. I cannot believe that I didn't know about the Royal Palms hotel until now. The staff is amazing, cordial and incredibly welcoming. The food at the restaurant was wonderful and not overpriced by any means. My room was unbelievably comfortable and clean - I had a late flight and they didn't charge me anything to check out very late in the day. Some hotels are insanely overpriced and Royal Palms puts their rates to shame. I'm coming back to Bermuda in the fall and will absolutely stay here again.”

The kids LOVED Elbow Beach because of the proximity to the beach, heated pool and hot tub. We were upgraded to a stylishly renovated junior "suite" in the Jasmine villa which is basically one room with a heavy curtain separating the king bed from pullout sofa and cot. Villas are smartly designed to give privacy. The main building has a 24/7 library with 4 computer terminals, pool table and keurig. Free in-room wireless would have been a nice touch. Overall, the service at Elbow is excellent. The food is great at the Seabreeze restaurant - a neat mix of friendly European wait staff really gives it a cosmopolitan feeling. The poolside guy is super helpful. Despite the poisonous jellyfish and chilly surf, the kids had a fantastic time at Elbow Beach which is a straight stretch of golden sand. It's right off the bus stop and a 7-min bus ride away from spectacular Horseshoe Bay. I definitely recommend this hotel but only if you have a renovated unit.”
We have stayed at the Newstead 3 times and tho this was not the best visit for weather and other factors it is a good spot to wind down. Lovelt locale, great harbour watching, good rooms and kitchen, wonderful restaurant and pool. We will go back.”
Thought the stay was very good overall. However, on our reservation with you we had noted that my husband has mobility issues, so we wanted to be centrally located and have grab bars in the bathroom. We also asked whether a wheelchair was available. None of this was passed on to the hotel. They were very nice about trying to accommodate us but it took several hours to sort out after we arrived.”
