Overall this was a very good option for a London stay. The apartments are in a great location and have all the facilities that you would expect of an apartment. The only aspect that our party wasn't impressed with was the breakfast, definitely over priced for what was available.”
I had seen some comments about the building works going on on previous reviews - for me, they did not cause any problems. The entrance to the hotel was very clearly signed, and my room was well away from any noise and works. The staff on reception were very welcoming and professional. I had dinner in the top floor restaurant - fantastic food, great service, wonderful view. You also have to walk past a Marks and Spencers to get from the underground to the hotel - not a bad thing at all!”
It's been 10 years since we last were in London ... We found the rembrant well placed near tube, museums ,Harrods, even the tour bus at our door .. We will diffently b usin the rembrant for our next stay ...”
Location: less than a five-minute walk from Princess Street, Carlton Hill, St. James shopping centre and Waverly train station. 5 - 10 minutes walk to express bus for Airport. In short, excellent location! Room: stayed in a superior double with a nice view of New Town and the harbor/bay. Ikea-style design/furniture with a good bed and large-screen tv, large and pleasant bathroom. Service: excellent service, very polite and helpful staff, room service is good but would suggest heading for one of the nearby restaurants instead, literally hundreds of restaurants within a 10-minute walk radius. Conclusion: Can't recommend this hotel enough, I loved my stay!”
The restaurant had misleading prices. They offered a family meal for four (2 adults & 2 kids) for 29.99 pounds. We got a bill for 89.90 pounds after we ate dinner, they couldn't explained it nor gave us the food price that was in their offer.”
It may be a little unfair to rate this hotel at 4 instead of 5 stars, the quality of service was excellent, little interaction with staff but when we did it was professional yet pleasant. Our room was spotless and the location is superb for everything - new town, old town and on an excellent bus route. However it just didnt feel like a 4 star stay. I understand that this is an old building, but the decor felt dated, though well maintained (no stains, marks, tears came to my attention). Our room was clean and comfortable, but very small and cramped, it just lacked that 4 star feeling. The breakfast was fine, not entirely to my taste; if you get a room-only rate I highly recommend a traditional Garfunkel's breakfast in Garfunkel's restaurant around the corner on the high street. Great stay all round, just couldn't help wishing for a little more luxury.”
I would stay in the britannia again because of the staff they were very friendly and went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable,Also i would like to say a special thaks to the porter he looked after us very well and you will go a long way to find a person like him who would do anything to be of help wheather it's letting you know where the best places to go for a drink ,meal or a show,Iwould recomend this hotel because of the great time i had in manchester due to the staff's help.”
This hotel is located 2 minutes walk from the main train station Piccadilly. It's about 5minutes walk from Canal Street which has bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is very nice, rooms are spacious, clean and have large windows with views of Manchester. I would definately recommend this hotel for a trip to Manchester.”
I stayed here recently with three young children. We were delighted with our two night stay at this hotel. The room was sparkling - perfectly clean and comfortable. We found every member of staff to be friendly, helpful, professional and very welcoming. It's located a few minutes walk away from the Arndale SC and although the area is not salubrious, we felt quite safe. We didn't avail of the gym or of food there but I would be confident of quality in this hotel and would return.”
I went on a long weekend to see both Glasgow and Edinburgh, it is a 35 min drive to Edinburgh and 15 min to Glasgow. Hotel was nice, room was a tad basic for a four star but this was outweighed by excellent facilities downstairs and the excellent staff!”
Very happy with the apartments. Clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. 5 minute walk from central station and the main shopping areas and not far from Parkhead. Would recommend it to anyone and will certainly be staying there again in the future.”
Spent a weekend at this Best Western Hotel. Location was good, near to many amienities and the center of town. Nicely finished and decorated well. Room was comfortable, however it was very small with little floor space due to the oversized bed (for the size of the room). Bathroom was clean and spacious. Hallway smelt like a bin the entire stay. We found it slightly inconvienient to have to wait until 2pm for check in. These were only minor complaints and overall we had quite a pleasant stay at this hotel. Would recommend for short term stay.”
