Hilton Hotel Zanzibar gives you a little bit of luxury. The hotel is beautiful and especially the rooms are amazing. The staff could have been a bit more friendly and helpful. Their english language skills were not something to brag about, to be honest. But all in all we really loved and enjoyed the stay. Absolutely a hotel to be recommended!”
The hotel was clean, comfortable and good service. The design and layout of the hotel and grounds framed superb views and vistas. I went in low season and found that it's peace, tranquility and excellent service was just what I wanted. Ideal for those wanting a romantic get away, however there were no livily nights and could be almost silent come 11pm. I was a little annoyed at the all inclusive and then upgraded all inclusive as certain food and drinks changed status, so one needed to watch what one was ordering. Out of season they were a little (and I stress a little) unorganised, which I am sure in high season they wouldn't be, but not so it was detrimental to the service or quality of activities. The food was varied and tasty. In low season there was limited choice to the restaurants but it wasn't a problem. Restaurant times were good and there was some form of entertainment on everynight. Cocktails and alcoholic drinks were all avaliable, although there was a tendancy to run out of diet coke! I liked that vegetables were grown in the grounds. Children, off season there were no children, but as Easter approached the number of children increased. There was no child only pool and they were too noisy in the main pool, where the bar was, there was no option to get away from them and use a pool with a bar. Staff were friendly and helpful and I liked that they also ate in the dining room after the restaurants closed. It was good to see the management fed their staff well. All the staff I spoke to were happy in their jobs and said that Melia were a good employer. The only staff downside was their reluctance to let you walk to the beach, it is only 1.2km through nice gardens, they felt it was too far. The gym and health spa were nice, clean and well equipped for a holiday gym, if a little too air conditioned for my liking. Having a gym instructor if I wanted it was a nice touch. Early morning stretching classes over-looking the sea was perfect way to start the day.”
We had a wonderful time in the Serena Inn. Especially the children enjoyed the spacious room, the swimming pool and the crepes at 16.00 hours served at the pool. It's absolutely a romantic place, but also very family friendly.”
Amazing hotel. Its very well appointed and well worth the money. It has a great roof top bar/restaurant which is for a hotel reasonably priced. The staff are very nice. There s (fast -for tanzanian standards!) internet access. The airport is only 20-30min away which is very convienent! We actually missed our flights and when we came to check back in at about 5am they gave us a new room free of charge. The next day they were helping us to sort out new flights and let us use the internet in the executive lounge for free. Best service from all hotels we have stayed in before!”
The room was nice and comfortable with the AC air barely kept the room cool and the air was not fresh.”
Had a wonderful evening at the Kibo Palace Hotel, The porter Shimira is a really pleasant guy and we shared a couple of precious moments with him speaking Swaheli, The front desk was also extremely efficient and helpful. Thanks for making our stay in Arusha a memorable experience”
