Located in a quiet residential part of Taipei, City Lake offers very good value for money in terms of comfort and convenience. The breakfast is average but lunch and dinner offers basic meals at very affordable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are eateries and restaurants in the surrounding area. Hotel is just a minute away from the MRT station which is very convenient. Unfortunately, it rained every day during my stay and I didn't had the chance to go to the Lake Part which is just a short distance away. Overall, I am satisfied with the hotel.”
Unbeatable for location. For a little extra, the more modern Metro rooms are worth it. Recommended for tourists and short business trip. one con was the lack of a drawer for putting clothing in. No bath tub too but for me, that is a plus as I seldom use it and the shower was huge and modern.”
The best feature of this hotel is its location. It is surrounded by plenty of restaurants especially Japanese ones. The MRT is within a short walk away.one can get to most parts of the city from here. The hotel itself is a little old and needs refurbishment. However the staff were friendly and service prompt.”
Excellent 5 star hotel. Spacious clean room, with modern decor. Large size bathroom. Breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of options (western, chinese, and japanese). Convenient location as it was beside the MRT station.”
The hotel is located in middle of the city. It is a bit far from the train station but it is closer to a number of important sights. Taking taxi between the hotel and elsewhere in the city is convenient and inexpensive. When going back to the hotel, you may want to have the hotel name written in Traditional Chinese. (Note Taiwan people do not welcome Simplified Chinese characters.) There is another hotel with amazingly close name pronunciation. The hotel staff are helpful in booking taxis and other issues. The room is very large, neat and good looking. Compared with the room, the bathroom is a bit primitive but exceptionally large and clean, as well as well serviced. The hotel does not come with any meals except a simple breakfast bought elsewhere. Thankfully there are a few good food stalls within 100 metres of walk.”
As usual, we were very happy with our stay. Also, your hotel's kind donation of desks for the newly opened "Ray of Hope" centre for pregnant women.in Tainan. The hotel staff were most cordial and helpful all the time we were with you. . The only negative was that the front desk forgot a wake-up call one morning. Thankfully, we woke up on time. When we return to Tainan, we will be staying at your hotel.”
Excellent check in/out, very friendly & knowledgeable. Spoke English. Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean with all possible amenities. Room service was reasonable priced, excellent quality, and very fast. I enjoyed the hot springs, sauna, steam room, workout area on the 16th floor. It was "no clothes" only, but not a problem. Again, they provided all possible amenities in the spa too at no charge. Overall, this was one of the best hotels I've stayed at in many years. I would visit this hotel & its chain definitely again.”
Splendid comfort at reasonable prices. However, it came as a dissapointment that the breakfast is not ready as stipulated at the timings between 6 am to 10 am. Staff counter already knew that we are requesting a cab from 6.10 am to catch a plane and they have kindly arranged it, but staff did not offer to help us to package the breakfast at least when asked about the breakfast timings. Quite a dissapointment, they did not offer that option as we can see customers on tourist coach being offered the same service that very morning. So what we had for breakfast for the 10 minutes is a paltry breakfast with just coffee and a biscuit. My take is, if you had advertised your breakfast timings to be between 6 to 10 am. All items should already been displayed and the chefs shouldn't be still cooking at those times. I have the feeling that maybe, they felt that there will be few who will come down at that early timing but still, such details should not be missed out. It is hence a dissapointment for the holiday day inn chain.”
It was good but not the best. No alarm clock but the phone wake up was fine. Fruit and bottle water there was a welcome addition. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was nice. Check in was a little confusing but was worked out, bring your booking info. If you like a tub bath be aware that the tub is very narrow. Overall, I would stay there again.”
Staff is very warm & friendly. Easily accessible to shops. The mattress is not very comfortable & the foundation box is quite unstable... tends to get ache all over after sleeping in for 4 hrs or so. It's good if you are looking for a short rest & on a tight budget.”
the room was beautiful, the view was beautiful, the location is great, we had the most helpful (and attractive) front desk staff, ever, and the bell boys could not open the door faster if they were super heros, this is a very nice place to stay”
Nice ppl good service Worth the money Go for holiday? Then stay in a holiday place. Near where? Idk, take taxi! I am not going to wAlk till my leg give way on a holiday. And it's not that far to be honest.”
