Really good location just down from the Plaza Catalunya. Easy to get to from the airport as the bus stops in the plaza. There is a good local bar across the road and a super eating place round the corner - can't remember the name but full of Spanish!”
We are just back from a three night stay at the hotel Barcelona universal. The photos don't do it justice, it is a beautiful hotel! We asked for a room at the back and they gave us a room on the 7th floor looking out at the view of the mountains and we could even see the sagrada familia!! It is on Paralell which runs parallel to las ramblas so only a 5 to 10 min walk and the same to the port and there is a metro station outside the hotel door. The staff are so friendly and very helpful and the rooms are really comfortable and very clean, as is the bathroom. (I'd recommend taking the plastic sheet off the bed though cos we did this for the 2nd & 3rd nights and it was much more comfortable as there was no more noise every time we turned in the bed!!) I'd recommend this hotel to anyone and I hope you have a great time if you do go to Barcelona!”
The Good: Great location, a lot of the sites are within walking distance and it is far enough away from Las Ramblas to not have to deal with the street noise at night. The start of the Las Ramblas is just a few blocks away. The hop on/off bus tour is a 10 minute walk away. The room was large and clean. We were upgraded to a premium room so I can't comment on the standard room. The shower was great, lots of pressure and water. The staff were very friendly and spoke good english. There is a great little coffee shop across the street where breakfast is cheaper than the hotel. The spa was relaxing and for 7 Euros worth it, we used it every day. The Bad: Not much other than their wireless internet is very very slow. The bar in the hotel is never busy but there are lots of bars in the area so not a big deal. Summary: There may be cheaper hotels in the area but for the location and ammenities I would stay here again for sure.”
Immaculately clean. Staff efficient and courteous. Great location. Bed Linen changed every day. Bar / lounge area very quiet...no atmosphere. Would have liked to see Tea and Coffee available in the room. Overall very satisfied with this hotel and its location.”
Very happy with hotel. Arrived at 11.30am and were checked in to 2 out of 3 rooms within 10 mins. 3rd room available after 1/2 hour. This is our third year to take a city break and the first time we got availability to rooms prior to 3.00 pm. Reception staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious, clean and very comfortable and the bathrooms very clean and big. Check out very professional with a room to leave luggage. Only issue I had was with breakfast. The hot plate was limited and not very warm. Cold plate, juices, & cereals good. Toaster a disaster!! Very convenient to the old town and tourist bus tours. Would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.”
Lovely hotel. High standard rooms, toiletries, bathroom. Reasonable prices for fridge and food in room. breakfast reasonable price@€9.very well located & close to metro. Only negatives Walls a bit thin and most(not all) staff could be a lit friendlier with very little effort! Would definitely stay again if in Madrid and would recommend.”
Hotel is well located, lovely reception area and staff were very helpful there spoke very good english which was great as we have v litle spanish. bed comfortable (although like a lot of Spanish hotels, was 2 large single pushed together), large room with easy chair also, bath, tv, mini bar fridge etc. Bus stop & Seville Bike stand outside hotel, only 10 mins to Old City. No. 5 bus either. El Cortes Ingles &stadium around corner. Nice area, school across road, other restaurants bars up towards the stadium, and shopping like Mango Zara up there too. Tapas bar just down from hotel towards city centre was very good and cheap. very enjoyable stay, good value, would recommend to anyone. quiet at night also as not right in city centre but we still found location easy to get to and from town. Rio Grande restaraunt in town at river is lovely setting for meal. We stayed in NH and Hesperia hotels in Cordoba & Granada on this trip also and all very good”
Great location in Seville. We walked to every destination with ease! This hotel doesn't have old world charm but was a modern, clean retreat with plenty of hot water and a view onto a nice piazza. There is not a bar in this hotel as some other reviewers have said but there is a "cafe" early in the day. However, it was extremely overpriced so we opted to eat elsewhere.”
Good hotel in heart of the old Jewish Quater - interesting maze of narrow streets and would not be so easy to find your way home after a late night! Typical European hotel room. Helpful reception staff.”
It is a large hotel , very stylish and clean. Very comfortable large double room with bathroom. Breakfast was not included in price but was good value. Large gated car park in front of hotel.”
Very nice, clean hotel. Parking was a little "tight" and there was a daily charge for this (i.e not included in room rate) Very conveniently located near main highway and near downtown and all the central tourist sights. Still impossible to get coffee before 8:00 AM unless one uses room service but this seems to be an inherent problem throughout Spain.”
We stopped off at the Molino de Alcuneza for one night on our way to the Madrid airport . The converted mill and setting were lovely. The owner is very hands on and helpful The food in the dining room was wonderful. We had a very positive experience and we would have liked to have been able to stay longer to relax and explore the area.”
