Location of the hotel is very good - a 5 minute walk to the bottom of Las Ramblas (seafront side) and 15 mins to Place de Catalunya. The metro stop outside the hotel is very handy for getting the metro to Barceloneta, the beach and the zoo. The hotel staff were very helpful. We didn't have any food in the hotel so I can't comment on that aspect of the hotel. The only bad thing I would say about the hotel is that there isn't any nice restaurants or cafes near the hotel - otherwise great hotel in a great location.”
We stayed in the hotel for two nights and found it ideal for what we needed. It's less than 10 min walk to Las Ramblas and is also near the Marina. We where getting the train to Salou also so the hotels location to Estacio De Franca was perfect (only across the road). The hotel room was small but had very good air conditioning so it was very comfortable to sleep in. It's a perfect hotel for those who will be out most of the day and only require the room to rest their heads at night. I plan on going to Barcelona again and I would certainly stay in this hotel again.”
Had a wonderful stay at H1898. Very conveniently located on La Rambla for access to shops, restaurants, sites of interest and tours. Very friendly and helpful staff and a lovely view around Barcelona from the rooftop terrace.”
I stayed at this hotel in the beginning of April 2012. It has a perfect location. Besides, room was big and good, service and quality was also fine. Everything about hotel and service was very good except the pillows. There should be more pillow available (maybe there were but we didn't ask) to use because existing ones are very weak. I strongly recommend this hotel for travelers to Madrid, especially if you are there for 3-4 days and you want be close to everything in the city. Location is perfect, Porte de Sol on left side and Gran via on the right, and crossing street, El Corte Ingles, Fnac etc next to hotel, as well very good shopping and tourist gathering areas.”
Lovely hotel. High standard rooms, toiletries, bathroom. Reasonable prices for fridge and food in room. breakfast reasonable price@€9.very well located & close to metro. Only negatives Walls a bit thin and most(not all) staff could be a lit friendlier with very little effort! Would definitely stay again if in Madrid and would recommend.”
Very happy with hotel. Arrived at 11.30am and were checked in to 2 out of 3 rooms within 10 mins. 3rd room available after 1/2 hour. This is our third year to take a city break and the first time we got availability to rooms prior to 3.00 pm. Reception staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious, clean and very comfortable and the bathrooms very clean and big. Check out very professional with a room to leave luggage. Only issue I had was with breakfast. The hot plate was limited and not very warm. Cold plate, juices, & cereals good. Toaster a disaster!! Very convenient to the old town and tourist bus tours. Would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.”
the hotel was in a great location, no more than 5 mins from anything, only draw back was a) the heat in july, way too hot and b) the swimming pool is quite small, the hotel itself was great and the cafe did great food at great prices, european breakfast and very helpful staff, can say enought about location, 5 mins to everything.”
Not easy to find on GPS if arriving by car: but there is an underground parking lot on Av. De. Menendez Pelayo at the corner of Calle San Jose. From there anyone can tell you where the hotel is, its only about two blocks away.”
It was clear on entering the hotel that it was was maintained and there was an exceptionally high level of service. The hotel's interior design and decor is absolutely beautiful and fitting to the historical building. I will definitely be staying at this hotel on my regular visits to Sevilla. BTW, the location is perfect and close to everything.”
Everything is good in this Hotel, although it doesn't strike you as top of the line Hotel. Location is great. Staff is quite friendly, it depends who you talk to. Breakfast is quite expensive for what you really get!”
Clean handy hotel just 10 minutes walk from the centre. Adjoining bar and restaurant with good prices. Friendly staff that cannot do enough for you. There is a car park but it costs 10 euros a day to park if you dont know cartagena just pay it its worth every penny and you know your car is secure.”
Hotel was lovely and so were the staff. It is surrounded by blocks of flats and busy roads. The excellent double glazing kept it silent inside but it was quite a walk to the interesting bits of town. On the plus side there were several cheap, quality, real Spanish (no English spoken!) bars and cafes nearby.”
