We had received good reports about this stylish new hotel, but were still pleasantly surpised by the quality of facilities and room accomodations, Even more impressive was the attentive personal service we received during our visit. Staff members always called us by name and responded to any requests promptly and courteously. This hotel definitilely provides the rare combination of comfortable, unpretentious luxury.”
Nice room with sea view. Not disturbed by traffic. Small bathroom but adequit. The only thing missing a fridge. Good breakfest.”
My stay at the Protea Hotel Tyger Valley was most comfortable and hassle-free. The staff were friendly, efficient and always helpfull. My only regret was staying there for one night only. I will definitely consider my future stay in Cape Town at a Protea Hotel. Many thanks to Protea Hotels”
The Hotel is all you expect from a new Radisson Hotel, except like so many new South African Hotels, the food and beverage prices are scandalous. They are killing the competitive edge of the SA hospitality industry. Otherwise the Hotel is great in terms of location, lay out, design, interior, etc. I will stay there again, but not eat or drink at the hotel. Fortunately there are many alternatives close by.”
Really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is a 5 minute walk away from Sandton City for all your shopping, eating and entertainment needs. It was comfortable and clean. The bar and restaurant ambience were very nice. The only downsides were: - you have to pay extra for car parking - the hotel is right next to the Village Walk where many shops are closing down - service in the restaurant was not very good, but service charge is automatically added to your bill”
We had a 12 hour layover in Johannesburg on our way back to the US from Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. We appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of the room especially the clean Duvet, rain shower, and complimentary internet connection. The only improvement I could think of is to have more movie channels available. The price was very reasonable. A great value. I would recommend staying here to anyone with a layover at OR Tambo.”
The Royal Hotel in Durban - helpful and friendly staff. the hotel is close to the beachfront”
The service at this hotel was phenomenal. There most friendliest Porters I ever met in my entire hotel stays. They are prepared to walk an extra mile. I did not have to roam around with my luggage whilst waiting for my plane time as they savely kept my luggages. The food was excellent and affordable to me as a Prokard holder. I will call again and recommend others to stay there. The hind side, the person at the till remained with my R50.00 change because he could not find change in time and the chartered bus was ready to the airport.”
I'd recommend this hotel based on its location and value. It is set in a safe, vibrant neighbourhood and is an easy 7 minute walk to the seafront promenade. It is much better value than some of the pricier hotels located on the seafront (only 1 block away) yet also has a great sea view. The service was great, the family room large and comfortable, and the rooftop swimming pool a fun, but small, feature. One downside is the lack of balcony or room service. However, across the road you'll find a selection of varied restaurants and a Woolworths (like Marks and Sparks) where you could pick up a takeaway in lieu of room service. However, the neighbourhood is so nice and family friendly that you'll probably opt to eat out! We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned for another stay during our holiday. Also very well located for easy access to King Shaka airport.”
My family and I had a wonderful time at Kwa Maritane. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. The ladies who do the children's activities were particularly good and our 7 year old twins never ran out of things to do. The lodge's proximity to Sun City also meant that we could enjoy the best of Sun City while being able to retreat to the peace of Kwa Maritane in the evenings.”
Our two nighter proved to be a very enjoyable stayover. Staff were friendly and attentive and went out of their way to accommodate our needs to attend a concert at Sun City. An early dinner was provided together with transport to and from the venue. The restuarant food was of a high quality and catered for all needs. All in all a truly wonderful experience in the African bush. Our compliments go to all the staff who made our stay so memorable.”
