we were greeted by each and every member of the staff when they saw us - they were friendly, professional and courteous. the location is great on the strip in Condado and also on the beach. the pool is wonderful and the neighbourhood is safe with lots of restaurants nearby. booking tours through the tour desk is a breeze and the staff there are very informative. we can't wait to go again!”
the stay was great. clean an comfortable. extremely helpful staff. the cookies are a nice touch. however, the shower is really small. i mean i am a little chinese woman that is 5 ft tall and weights 100 lbs and i thought is was tight to get into. and there are no towel hooks in the bathroom.”
Our stay was a pleasant experience. The hotel was nice, elegantly designed and staff available. A beautiful setting on the ocean. The room in the lagoon tower was spacious and newish and had a great view to the lagoon. We were given a room on the high floors like we asked. The balcony was clean and spacious. The white tilefloor in the room felt really fresh in comparison to the wornout stuffy carpets you usually see in other hotels. Even though we liked the hotel, there's always room for some improvement. The extra resort fee added on top of the already paid hotel felt like a rip off. This should be included in the price and payment when you book. The whole resort fee is a fake concept, for extra billing- it's like you would have a building-use-fee etc.. I've always used Hotels.com for the reason that they usually state the final price clearly. When with other sites you get additional costs& taxes all the time. This time though, I was dissappointed with hotels.com and the hotel to find the resort fee come up. Other minor details: The slidedoor to the bathroom left a large crack open to the room, so no privacy. Couldnt figure out how to get fridge working, but didnt bother to research it because of short stay; we got ice from hallway. Although the room in general was very clean, a few corners of floor could've been mopped more. That being said, white tile floors are demanding. Some stains on walltiles in bathroom and the switches needed wiping. But all in all a good hotel.”

The Rio Mar is a beautiful hotel, Its clean , safe, there are lots of resturants in the hotel and also a casino, The only thing i didnt like about the hotel was that it was very far from Old San Juan, cabbing it from the hotel to told san juan was $68 one way, I also found that the emplyees werent as helpful, they try and get you to do everything in the hotel , which is really expensive, we orded in one night and it cost us $60 for 3 burgers which wasnt the greatest. If u want to see san juan and save money, Dont stay here, if u want to relax and have lots of money to spend, than yes its the place to be .”
Excellent customer service and complimentary amenities. Would definitely go back. The staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are large, quiet, comfortable and clean. Excellent pool area. Within a 5 minute easy walk to Isla Verde beach and the hotel provides chairs, umbrellas and towels at the beach ~ just look for the sign and present your room key. The Embassy has a 2 hr free cocktail hour in the lounge every night and a decent complimentary breakfast in the morning. Very close to the airport, so you're at the hotel within 5 minutes. Not much in the way of a hip surrounding neighbourhood; it's very quiet and laid back, but there are a few restaurants and a drug store within walking distance. If you're looking for an active night life i.e. latin bands/dancing, it's a 10 walk to the El San Juan. For more activity i.e non-beach time such as shopping, restaurants, bars, markets, etc. you can grab a taxi for $10 and head to the Condado area or take the bus for 0.75 (you'll need exact change.)”
the hotel is older. The rooms are nice, but the walls are paper thin. Conversations or crying babies next door can be heard. The hotel has a famous night club which rocks on the weekdends until 4am. This is a problem if you prefer sleeping at 2 or 3 am. We were on the 7th floor and could hear the music and peole screaming and shouting.”
This hotel was in a great location with a wonderful beach. The service was friendly. Unfortunately, there was a huge dip in our bed that wasn't really evident until we got into it and only on one side. My guess is that a previous guest may have either jumped on the bed or been too heavy and broke it. Whatever the reason, I got very little sleep. I did tell the staff the next day about it and they said they would pass it on to housekeeping which was the extent of their response.”

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort. It was a little long at the reception when we arrived. There was only one desk clerk busy dealing with complications with a couple. It took at least 10 minutes for him to go in the back to get another clerk to help me (and another guest waiting in line) out so that upset us having to wait so long to check in. Once we did, the desk clerk that helped us gave us a nice room not too far from the main building. We enjoyed our meal, the service was very good. The next morning it is was very noisy early with all the maintenance going on. Staff use these loud leave blowers everywhere so that really destroys the beautiful peaceful setting we seek when we go to a place like that.”
Felt more like a Disney destination than a romantic getaway with my wife once the rainforest soundtrack kicked in every night. It was loud enough to keep us awake! Hotel was beautiful otherwise and the staff was great. Restuarants were mediocre, lacking proper utensils and a promised birthday cake.”
