Hotels in Papua New Guinea

Overall, a great hotel. The restaurant on the 7th level offers stunning views of the airport and surrounding countryside. Would be the greatest aircraft spotting hotel were it not for the fact few aircraft fly into and out of POM. Friendly staff, clean and the food was good. Take the upgraded rooms in the main hotel if you are more concerned with safety (I stayed in a Baccus Room which has outside doors). The hotel is patrolled by shotgun carrying guards, and they are friendly but will tell you stay inside the grounds. The neighborhood and surrounding area can disarm you, but be sure you WILL be rolled and robbed if you venture outside the gates very far. Overall, POM is not safe without local assistance and bodyguards. Hotel was a fantastic experience and will be staying here when back in country.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially those in the restaurant. The food is good quality, although there is very little variation in the breakfast buffet ie., I became a little tired of scrambled (very soft) eggs; altho the breakfast buffet has a good variety. On my hotel booking for special requests, I requested soy milk in my room - & as a Priority Club member I expected some additional benefits. The soy milk was not provided, and the Priority CLub service I've received in the past was non-existent with no special welcome or chocolates as in the past. The hotel seems quite challenged with their air conditioning services: all the garden wing rooms have been closed for some time due to repairs on airconditioning (however they still advertise these rooms on websites altho not available). I had a delux room in the 'Tower' section, and altho the aircon worked, even at 16 degree setting I couldn't sleep with a quilt & at times it was too humid in the room. Overall, a good stay at the hotel.

I was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff members I met. Airport transfers are an important reason to choose this hotel. The hotel is near the town centre - within walking distance- but well-protected from the less desirable aspects of the town

Quite pleased. Competent and friendly staff at reception desk, helpful service. Though just booking a budget room you get full access to all hotel facilities like pool and fitness center.
