I read the reviews and was a bit worried, but as I was heading back from the mountains all I needed was a big pool to relax my tired muscles. It's not maybe exactly European 5*, but nor is the price, and it's still very nice. Big, air conditioned rooms with balconies, nice Moroccon decoration all over the place, two restaurants (I would recommend rather Moroccan than Western cuisine), and as many have stated, the pool is super. Nobody asked me any tips so maybe they have done something to improve the service. The pool side service was kind of slow, but during the lunch and dinner everything was very polite and effective. I got shampoo to my room only on the second day, and the room service did not fill the mini bar, but I consider such a very minor issues compared to the price of the hotel.”
The hotel is large, spacious and nicely decorated so very accommodating. Rooms are very large as are the beds and bathrooms. All pretty new to provide you with a very welcoming experience. The pool is very big and there are plenty of sunbeds and ample space so doesn't feel crowded. Breakfast buffet includes a large selection of items. The quality of food is good but not exceptional. The biggest failure point is the hotel staff, in particular the reception and concierge services. Staff's English is relatively poor. Whilst French tourists make the biggest single group of hotel customers, the majority of customers are from other countries such as the UK, Spain and other European countries. The Concierge was unable to provide any tourist information help, even very basic stuff like location of key attractions. In a country like Morocco where everything is so different to what most Western tourists are used to such a service is invaluable. Shame the hotel does not put more emphasis on this kind of supportive service. Nevertheless, a good hotel which I would recommend to friends and family.”
My partner and i stayed at suite novotel marrakech this januar(2011) and we were both very pleased with the hotel and the room. We had the luxury of having both shower and bathtub, which is great. If I am gonna be picky I would recommend u get a room facing the back of the hotel, ours was towards the street that was quite busy both day and nite, hence noisy and smelly from car fumes. But it was no big problem. Very nice neighborhood, and short walk to medina and djemaa el fna, as well as to Gueliz new town.”
the hotel is of a good standard and very clean the staff are helpfull and help make your stay a pleasant one. The location is ideal for easy access and only a few minutes walk from the Medina. One downside is the hotel guest policy that prohibits any local people visiting your room which i have never found anywhere in the world?”
Lovely setting but VERY hard to reach from airport (I had to use a VERY overpriced--& OBSTINATE taxi from Intl airport because hotel does not provide any way for an arriving guest to be met. Otherwise a better-than-expected stay & VERY caring staff in all departments ONCE I ARRIVED. Prior to arrival ALL my emails to hotel were IGNORED!”
Traditional, very respectable hotel. Spacious and comfortable or perhaps even luxurious. In all a bit more than I needed on my two-night business stay. Can not judge the catering though. I did not eat in. Not because did not like it but because was looked after by my receiving party. Room was extremely spacious clean and excellent bed. Will be more than happy to stay there again.”
All in all very satisfactory. we are in the mature age group and initially felt that the hotel was more suited to younger family type holiday makers but in fact it worked out vey well. Lots of lovely space inside and outside the hotel. Staff lovely and most helpful. I felt that the bar prices were a bit off the wall but that is the same everywhere.”
This was my first experience of an all-inclusive hotel. We were here for two days having previously been in a small 2 star where we blended in with local life. It came as somewhat of a shock therefore when the animation team were firing everyone up after lunch in what seemed a vaguely disrespectful way; it seemed at first both intrusive and somewhat dehumanising. (I also failed to understand as well why the animators felt it necessary to wander around the restaurant saying "bon appetit" when the diners were clearly enjoying themselves and didn't need further input or wishes on the matter.) That moan apart, this was a splendid place to stay. Because of the above comments, I stayed away from the pool area, and enjoyed the seafront and the first class catering in the restaurant and snack bar. The hotel's position is very good indeed, on the seafront and the edge of the main pedestrian boulevard that leads you to the well-appointed and attractively constructed marina towards the north of the bay.”
Some rooms with fantastic see view, very quiet. Moroccan decoration of the hotel is very tasty and let you blend in the culture. It is always nice to start your day with a very good breakfast in a peacefull high ceiling moorish style restaurant.”
I have stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world and this was my best experience by far. The staff went out of their way to make you comfortable and to make arrangements at a moments notice. The property is absolutely beautiful and as a Designer I could appreciate the attention to detail in every section of the hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious. The wireless internet connection worked from our room (which is not always the case). Our experience with this hotel was so positive that it ended up being our favorite destination throughout Morocco. Lastly, if you enjoy spas, definitely book yourself an appointment while you are here.”
New and comfortable. Staff at reception desk not very friendly. Location a bit far from touristic sights. Good place for business stays.”
